Dear Fan Faire Organiser
I would like for you to address a complaint many of the player base of The Matrix Online wishes addressed. The complaint being that no information to any events sheduled during Fan Faire in relation to the player attending from The Matrix Online. A number of us are still waiting for information to be disclosed before we register for Fan Faire and would liek to know when this information will be disclosed. The problem we face have stemed from our lead Developer leaving and a lack of information as to what will happen next both in game and at Fan Faire. The player base who wishes to attend would like to know if there will in fact be anything arranged for us liek many of the other players who subscribe to other soe games. I my self have already booked my trip to Vegas from the United Kingdom and would like to attend Fan Faire while on my visit. I attended Fan Faire 2008 and enjoyed meeting the people behind the scenes and also chilling with players and would like to know if the people who attend Fan Faire this year from the Matrix Online can expect the same sort of itinery because as it looks at the moment The Matrix Online appears to have been neglected in teh initial planning of the event. This is not just a rant for the Matrix Online player base i encourage other players from SOE games to read this and voice your opinions. How would you feel if your game was neglected the way The Matrix Online is being. I know we are a minority game but I think all players of what ever SOE game should feel welcomed at Fan Faire as it stands it appears little effort is being made to extend this common courtesy to the player base of The Matrix Online

Looks at the Fan Faire schedule...
See that the only things that have been posted about any game are the annual Live quests/Tourneyments, that always happen at the same time and don't need information like who will be available to attend panels and what not. As well as a specific celibration of the Anniversery of SWG, as its launch date and Fan Faire happen to be on the same day.
You are not being any more neglected then any other game when it comes to knowing what is going on in your game, as noone knows what panels thier game is going to have or even if there will be any panels. Besides EQOA and PS are both in the same or worst shape then you are so you are not alone.

The Matrix Online is not. I don't think you guys realize how badly we've been treated by SOE. We have -nothing-. We have no bug fixes, no development, NOTHING. We have a community lead that has the occassional forum contest for a special forum rank.
As I recall, Planetside lost a developer, and he was replaced by Brewko. We lost our ONLY developer and he was replaced by silence.
This time last year, while we might not have known what panels there will be... we at least knew what our in-game item would be and there was active discussion with SOE employees about what would be had at Fan Faire for the Matrix Online. So far this year... we have received ZERO information. There are people who are considering travelling from OTHER COUNTRIES to go to this. They merely want to know if, as a Matrix Online player, dropping several grand to attend will be worth their time.

Hey guys, ive researched this, seems like PlanetSide has just lost their last dev aswell. He promised the community to work on merging the remaining 2 PS servers a couple of moths ago, and afaik last week or so he got promoted to producer on EQ.
They still have way more subscribers than we do, and they still have 2 active community managers working on news and small ingame events (BO). But they are losing subs anyway, especially while hacker issues are being neglected (lots of hacking going on there, you have no idea).
We are not the ones being neglected tbh, soe don't really care about anyone else than the ones paying for their main cashcows.
This is what SOE's about now.

Figured as much. I've come close to a breaking point. It's sad really.
Maybe they are practicing for a new player base of young children by treating us like young children. Or by behaving like young children (ie. the silent treatment).
I'm glad that MxO was the only SOE MMO I enjoyed. Makes not giving SOE any more money that much easier.

Its too bad but had we not been treated like lepers to be shunned, I might have given The Agency a try. Now, I'm going to advise everyone who plays MMOs to avoid any SOE game like the plague.
All it could have takin to prevent all of this bad blood is just simple, honest communication. Report there's nothing to report, we're sorry but the game is in limbo/maintainance mode until we sort things out. At least thats an act of good faith for your customer base. Check in with us every now and then as a simple common courtesy. It shows empathy. It shows ethics. But to actually "hide" from your own customers is horrible business, not to mention cowardly; and it only hightens the hostility the longer and bigger the wall of silence grows.
