The Matrix Online needs one or more people to fill the roles of Lead Developer, Stroyteller and Animator. The definition of 'need' is as follows:
That is all.
I wish I had 'considerable' weight to throw behind this, but fwiw, I second this.
DO IT.
Gogogogogo!
Indeed.
For those of you who don't play, we recently lost our only developer. Actually, it's been several months now. Since he left, we've been given a wall of silence from our producer, 'Walrus'. I put a question on this forum asking why MxO had been removed from the Station Store's page a month ago, and still no answer has been given. We currently have just a community rep (Virrago), and that's it.
If SOE intends to end the game, at least have the decency to tell us so that we can say our goodbyes to our friends and tie up whatever loose ends we have in the game. I'm honestly afraid that any day now, I'm going to try to log in to find the game ended without a word.

If they ain't for giving us another dev, at least drop the pigging price. More and more people are leaving and theres nothing bringing other people into the game. Read many a review saying they'd play if it was cheaper / free to play. SoE, we've been trying for the past couple of years, its upto yous now. Price drop or just drop us
Well it really makes no sense to charge subscribers full price when you're no longer offering the product they signed up for. We began playing this game as it was the official continuation of the Matrix story after Revolutions. We didn't sign up for a static game that no longer offers new content, story or development.
They may as well promote MxO now as a virtual chatroom stylized after the world of the Matrix with limited content.
After Rarebit's departure, there was a huge uprise in player quitting, larger even than the effects of the Combat Revision. The population has suffered severely and the servers are deader than I've ever seen. Many of the hardcore players who said they would never quit left, because this is no longer the same game. It is no longer a game. It is a corpse masquerading as a project, a slap in the face to the consumers.
Even Vanguard and Planetside have developers. If players can figure out how to mod MXO by themselves, then it shouldn't be that hard to train a newbie developer to use actual tools. Stop wasting our subscription money on someone who surfs the forums all day and pretends that the "cult of personality" effect from posting with a red name means dev interaction, who calls repetitive player-submission contests "content." Content is something YOU make and WE consume, not the other way around. The role of community management is pointless when your community is bleeding away. This is bull****.

I don't think it would be too hard for people like me and you, Baya, but it's never gonna happen, 'cause server tech and tools are owned by SOE and they will NEVER let it go, though I wished they'd do. Then we could at least host our own servers and continue developing MxO after SOE gives up on it -_-
lawl, this had about as much effect here as it did on our own forums.
Yup, unless something is done, its a quick grave for a good, nad potentially very profitable, game with a big IP following.Balls in SOE's court and, unfortunately, we all pretty much know what that means.

Saved me a typing session! To the point and is bloody right!
Give us some fricking content!
Jees even a rookie intern would do more!
Bay pretty much hit the nail on the head.

This is what really frustrates me. SOE had such a huge opportunity with the Matrix Online. This game has so much flippin' potentional, but instead they've dumped on us over and over, focusing on DC Online which is going to flop horribly. I mean seriously... they could've fostered a truly unique and, at the time, popular MMO into something great... but instead they decided to focus on DC Online which is going up against the CoX/Champions juggernaut. This is just ridiculous.
They need to stop focusing on these piece of crap games like Free Realms and their card games, and actually do something with the properties that could actually make them some money.
God, I really hope to see the Agency and DC Online fail. I really do.
