Well back at work and I can type in the massage field again!

Anyway...

I think the problem was related to the fact I was using the EQ2 in-game LoN client and browser to access the forums. I couldn't get a cursor to show up in the message field but I could click on smileys and type in the thread title, lol. Anyone know why?
