new players (players who joined in 2008-2009) can ask now uncommon per pack (4 uncommon cards per post that is)
As for the discussion if older players with a limited collection are allowed to post and take cards.. I leave it up to their own conscience wiether it is "fair" or not to deprify newer player from cards.

Well ... I'm definately a newb. As in: signed up a day or two ago and just finished playing through the tutorials.
This game looks like a blast, I love deep strategy. And, in my brief perusal of the forums, I've been very impressed by the evident enthusiasm and desire to build the community.
So .. I guess this is the part where I should ask for some cards ... but I haven't a clue what to ask for. Anyone have any suggestions as to which races I should be looking to build? And which cards are the best? (Or a link to some handy newb guides)

"What to ask for" is a somewhat complicated question. The easiest answer would be to simply check card values on kitsdb.com and ask for whichever cards have the most monetary value - which of course reflects utility. If you end up not wanting to play that particular race you can always trade the card for something good that fits your current needs.
Thanks doc! That's exactly what I did, although I still felt like at lot of the high value rares somehow seemed like they might be hard to target effectively.
Got my eye on a nice shiny set of matching UCs for my next one.
More or less all of the trades were accepted.. except those who listed more than one Rare, or more than 4 Uncommons.
