Is there a way for crafters to grind faction?  I switched piloting professions, and have been "GROUNDED" because my imp faction is WAY low. (my rebel isn't much better either)  I don't have the money to swap out of my trader profession and I really don't want to.  So, any help?

Space is a good way to grind faction/GCW.

Ace Pilot a decently outfitted ship roughly 2k + GCW per hour. Deep Space, Kessel, And Ord Mantell.

Ok, more details I guess were needed........

I am a shipwright, and a novice imperial pilot.  I "was" a rebel, but neutral pilot.  I had to wait 5 days to change ground factions, in order to fly imperial ships.  I currently suffer from faction scores of -4500 (on each side).  I see GCW points being added, but not faction. (maybe its bugged?) I've been downing rebel ships in my tier2 tie fighter, but they still won't let me go on, I"m "GROUNDED" according to Oberwhatsit.  As a crafter, ground missions are out unless there are ways to do them as a crafter that I'm not aware of. (or crafting missions)  I plan to keep flying against the rebels, but if I can't continue my pilot training, its going to be VERY slow going.  I'd really like to move on in my piloting skills.

thanks

GCW and Imp faction work different.

To gain Imp faction, just go out to the Rori Rebel base (or similar type static factional spawn of lower level NPCs) and slaughter the lvl 20ish Reb NPC's there.  You don't gain GCW, but you do get Imperial faction.

I experienced a similar situation after I had transferred my main from here to Bloodfin about 2 years ago.  Which I now regret!  After rolling and playing a new character on Starsider this past week. I see a lot of ex-Gorath players.  I've ran into Krelos and quite a few MDH'ers.  Anywho back on track, I transferred my Elder which was Rebel before the transfer and turned neutral during the transfer.  Once on Bloodfin I attempted to join the Empire, but was unable to due to my -5000 Imperial faction points.  I did the terminal missions, but good BoB that took a day in it self and I had a better chance at becoming a priest.  So I finally submitted a ticket and had a CSR or GM as they are now labeled and had them delegate the points needed.  Just a food for thought, hopefully it works out and best of luck.

Taking this back off track, the difference between Starsider and Bloodfin seems to be about as big a difference as between Bloodfin and Gorath. I'm seeing plenty of people around Bloodfin but Starsider is downright busy and reminds me of the good times on Gorath. I had a low-level shipwright sitting on Starsider for the last couple of years and just ground him up to master last night. Unfortunately, my only combat toon there is level 66 or so.

I want a /fcts from gorath to starsider......I played around on there for a bit, and MAN is it hopping!  I just don't feel like grinding up toons anymore than I already have.  The rebel theme park fits the bill for me, and while its a bit cheesy burning down NPCs that are 70 or so levels below me, I AM a crafter.......so its still dangerous!

Yup.  There's no shame in killing somebody weaker than you to get what you want. SMILEY

That's just how we roll here in the Empire.
