[Battlefield Bugs, Issues and Solution]

Battlefield Bugs:

Queue and Invitation Bugs:

  • Battlefield invitation pop-up lacks a notification sound.
  • Some players experience not getting inside a battlefield, despite having a que number value below 16.
  • Players can be qued for other battlefields while in a battlefield.
  • Players joining a qued-up-group will be unable to enter a battlefield untill their previous groupleader is done with the battlefield.
  • when you type /battlefield while in the process of queuing up for a battlefield, you bug and cant enter a queue or battlefield ( workaround: logout for ~3mins )

Exploitable Bugs:

  • Players being able to flip terminals while on-leave in a PVP zone. ( Severity: High )
  • Players entering PVP zones while not getting flipped to SF.
  • LoS issues (AOE DPS being ported to levels below or above that particular floor etc).

( I wasnt able to reproduce the AOE porting, see here. )

  • Other players being AFK and getting GCW for it.
  • If two imperials duel eachother in the zone when combatant and deathblow then the score (10pts per kill) is deducted from the rebel team and vice versa. ( Severity: High )
  • Players can enter the battlefield and drop mines before the battle starts.
  • Players are able to use alt-toons as placeholders on opposing teams to purposely disrupt team balances.

Misc Bugs:

  • After completing Jungle Warfare, access is denied players in the Starport Terminal room at Yavin MO. Just as if they had been banned from the structure.
  • The /battle command will show the "requesting battlefield data" message but the window will never pop up.  The bug usually occurs after traveling or can seemingly happen randomly.
  • Battlefields not starting.
  • Some players don't get the battlefield cloning option while dying inside a battlefield.
  • Upon death at the end of a battlefield, some players will still be displayed as a corpse to other players while they will in fact be alive.
  • Shuttling too close to a battlefield invite means you'll refuse to join the battlefield.
  • Dead players not getting battlefield tokens.
  • Upon battlefield ending, players tend to get stuck in port locations (bypass: Mount something, or do /prone;/stand).
  • Battleground waypoints persist.
  • Some battles are incorrectly granting victory to the losing side.
  • Upon battlefields ending, dead players are not getting ported outside.
  • Lack of battlefield voicechat. (bypass: create a voicechat upon entering)
  • Players being ported to BF exit locations without notification.
  • Battlefields placed on Yavin are geographically placed in the path of Smuggler Missions going from Yavin IV Mining Outpost and Woolmander Palace.
  • Buff Value's dissapearing upon death. Some buffs will be lost while the healthbar will still display them. ( i.e. Entertainer Buff's )
  • Players can use Group Pickup Point ( two people outside creating it ) to get out of the Battlefield before it ended

Battlefield Bug and Issue Solutions:

Queue and Invitation Solutions:

  • One Queue instead of 4.
  • Additional Infos about the Queue should be added to give groups better chances to enter the same battlefield then.
  • The Battlefields will rotate so you not enter everytime the same one
  • Minimum Players to start a battlefield is 6 instead of 4.
  • Battlefield Tokens will be changed to General Battlefield Tokens, so you not get uneven Values of Tokens because one BF gets played less
  • add last check before the battle starts if more people are in the queue again and if the numbers of people that accepted is uneven, it should just invite the people that havent accepted again ( would be good for those that forget to accept in the first round and then could get a reinvite, or for the latecomers )
  • if players get out of battlefields before it ended ( kicksolution to prevent afk, logout, gpp ), try to invite players that are on queue to fill the running battle again, people would get a different invite here ( larger msgbox would be good ) so they can differ between an running bf invite and an invite for an beginning bf
  • give group leaders the option to accept for the group
  • give group leaders the option to accept if the group gets in totally
  • give the players inside an battlefield the option todo another round in this constellation ( boot them directly into another bf ) , so the waiting time is being reduced after the first battle

Laasin's Ideas:

  • Create a detailed UI depicting the queue's layout.
  • This would include names/classes/levels of queued players from your faction
  • This UI wouldn't need to be displayed on the same page as the normal Battlefield UI.  In fact, it would be best if it were a separate UI which would be accessed by the main UI.
  • This information could even be included in the Battlefield invitation notice. This would still need to be used in conjunction with a dedicated queue listing accessible from the main Battlefield UI.

Versatti Ideas:

Exploit Solutions:

  • kick out players that are afk in battlezones after 3min ( you considered afk, if you not entered the battlefield after 3mins on the cloner, you should get a warning message, too )
  • after being kicked out of battlefields 3 times a day you will get an 24h lockout for battlefields

Misc Solutions:

  • Add a "Refresh Button" to the Battlefield Status Window or make the content autoupdate every 5seconds.
  • to give more incentives todo the battlefields let consumables be buyable, healstims that have a lower value then those ingame for example and are on the same shared cooldown
  • remove cloning sickness when entering a battlefield, remove cloning sickness when cloning inside

Alot of the the infos where taken from Vincent76's [Gameplay Focus] GU10 Bugs/Issues , because he done most of the work allready, the Solutions are basically ideas people had while talking about problems on teamspeak i play or when i talked about them with BadgerSmaker.

All in all, nicely done.  I did have a couple of comments to add though:

[Battlefield Bugs, Issues and Solution]

Battlefield Bugs:

Queue and Invitation Bugs:

Just because your queued position is under 16 does not mean you will get to enter the Battlefield.  Actually, this issue is not a bug from what I see.  The person posting this issue was simply experiencing things as they were meant to be (how the instances were coded).  It is a first come fist serve queue, so if you are the odd person out, you are excluded.

Unfortunately, groups are not given any sort of cohesion when queuing for Battlefields.  I've been thinking about this problem and to be honest no solution that I have come to will work without giving groups priority in queues.  This may sound fine, but when you are not grouped, queued at position one and see that both sides meet the required numbers to enter, I'm sure you wouldn't want to get kicked out of queue just because a group queued up behind you and made you the odd man out.

I've thought of giving groups an option to keep themselves whole for an instance which would move them back in the queue if one or more of their members was going to be excluded, but this leads to the same issue as stated above.

EXAMPLE:

  • If there are 8 Rebels and 7 Imperials queued for a Battlefield and the last 5 in the Rebel queue are grouped, it would mean that instance would get cancelled if that group didn't allow 4 of its members to enter separately (reason: it would leave a 3 on 3 situation and that is not allowed).

PROBLEMS:

  • If one were to say that the Battlefield should then be cancelled and the queue restarted for the next, it would leave the exact same situation.
  • Moving the group to the head of the queue would be completely unfair to those that don't have a group and would simply cause more problems.

Unfortunately, this is a problem that we all had to see coming with the inclusion of the Battlefields.  If you're trying to keep the sides evenly matched with respect to numbers, the only thing that can balance the battle itself are those people in the queue.  Those waiting need to know what their perspective team looks like so they can make an educated decision on whether they should enter or not.

IDEA:

  • Create a detailed UI depicting the queue's layout.
  • This would include names/classes/levels of queued players.

Given this information, those in queue would have the opportunity to see how their perspective group would look and make their decisions based on this information.  I'm sure people would still enter the instance despite this information, but it would make it easier for those wishing to know their situation to make an educated decision.

Exploitable Bugs:

  • LoS issues (AOE DPS being ported to levels below or above that particular floor etc).

I've also had issues where I would receive the 'Cannot see target' notification when trying to attack players in front of me with no obstructions in the way.

I've listed some more data on the entbuffs being lost, but yeah thats pretty much all copy-paste from my post here: [Gameplay Focus] GU10 Bugs/Issues

I've gotten alot of info in that thread and I wasn't sure how the battlefields placed in the senatorial duties, so having them two places is better - especially since this thread can also host discussions on sulution, while mine is merely listing the bugs as players post them SMILEY

Well i can say you it has nothing todo which entbuff you get, if you die in PVP your entbuff will be lost, but the symbol still shows.

This wont work as most the imps on our server would just remove from the que once they saw they were against our team.

People will just pick the easy fights that they think they have the advantage in.
