Welcome to Star Wars Galaxies

Star Wars Galaxies has been enjoyed by many people for many years sense its beta launch in 2003

there have been changes and upgrades to the game over the course of the 6 years that the game as has been live.

I ask that you do your best not to become too overwhelmed by the enormity of the following guide

There will be many links "organized" in a fashion to make it easy for people to find information they are looking for.

the # 1 tip for new and returning players is to discover the ~ (tilde) key

it opens the radial menu on almost all items, creatures and Charaters in the world of SWG

*Item Value and a Warning to the New and Returning Player*

i would love to say that the world of SWG is a utopia. after 6 years things have gotten expensive and can be difficult to fathom the prices.  just like the real world there are those out to make a quick profit off of the uninformed

**Do not Sell any items until you know their True Value**

Old Pre NGE items have a very high sentimental value and some things are just not obtainable anymore

check out the FAQ Using the Community Bazaar  for information on how to buy and sell items on the bazaar

and check your Galaxies trade forums for rare items and price checks

the random loot and junk that you gather can be sold to the junk dealer.

but you will get a better profit selling stacks of junk and loot to traders to use in the Reverse Engineer (RE) process

I'm ROFL about the tilde key (first post in this thread) because it took me FOREVER to discover it... since tilde is actually a shifted key and you don't use the shift to use it ingame... also, "radial" = "tilde key"

Just another boneheaded mistake I made on my first toon...

lol it is a shift command but its easier to describe then use the (`) key
