So i did a /who all .. and it said 28 people, a few minutes later 33, an then 34. people in qalia an temple of dailuk an kojan so not just in the area i was in. Is this right? is there that few people playing?
Man i had so much hope for this game in beta, even with all the bugs. i cant play a game that only has 30 people online on a server this big. sigh, thought the game had improved i just came back. it looks better, but with only 100 people on the server thats nuts... how is EQ1 population?
PvE servers are much more populated.
dont think to bad of the population. we are less, there you are right. but with the less people you will have it easier to make friends. Alltogether i think Sartok has the greatest Community of all the servers!

It is only Sartok.
In the last few months we have been getting 2-6 new people a day saying they are just coming back or just trying it out or what have you. Then after a couple weeks they quit because of low server population. Had they all toughed it out for a little bit I would guess we would be up around 300 400 online after a few months, but no one seems to have the patience to wait it out other than the die hards. I don't know what really can be done at this point to help the population, the average pvp type person just does not seem to have the patience to wait for the population to pick up and new people thus just seem to leave as fast as they come.

Many old ppl transfered to pve cause they could not stand the exploiting/botting a certain guild IS doin on Sartok, its a shame that these guild drive ppl away from Sartok and the GMs doenst really care about it,so they go on and do it as much as they can.
But if you figure out who need to do it like this you can easy avoid them and still have fun pvping on Sartok with the other few left that play legit.
considering how tense this server can be at times having a lull in the game is actually quite nice im lvling a shaman on there now i know i wont be pvp till 17 which is fine by me ill take all breaks i can get for now
Rofl, seems the pop just keeps getting lower and lower every day.
Pottamina, don't let Sartok get ya down. Transfer to Seradon, there are anywhere between 1200-1500 players during prime time some times more. Not to mention the Seradon's has a much better community. Sartok is a ghost town and for every 1 great person you find on sartok there are 10 idiots - and with an active population of under 75, you're going to be sadly disapointed with what you find.

If you want PvP but transfer to Seradon just to get the higher population, you will still be sorely dissapointed. PvP is non-existant on the other servers, can't even guildwar, nobody duels, and the Arena is a joke.
If you want PvP ala VG, Sartok is the ONLY choice but it really depends on how much stock you put into PvE play. Playing as a carebear when you actually want PvP is a recipe for cancellation.

I think these carebears would make it over here on Sartok.

They already have.
The time may be approaching when Sartok will need to be merged again. There are really only a handfull of active guilds now. Just about nobody can raid consistantly without teaming up with another guild. I've been watching the online count and I haven't seen it go over 100 for a long while now.
The new content, being mostly group, will help some. There is stiil a lot of content that nobody on Sartok will ever see, though. There just aren't enough of us to do it anymore, and many of the more active players, unfortunately, aren't very well liked, so it makes teaming up pretty tough.
What I wouldn't mind seeing is for Sartok to get merged into whichever is the most active PvE server, with PvP flagging as an option for those who still want to PvP.
Some of you probably remember old school EQ1 PvP, where you had to see the Priest of Discord and turn in your book, which turned your name red and flagged you as attackable. I think something like that could work here, as long as it was a "one way" option so that people couldn't go blue to get gear, and then go red after they had it, and then back again. It's likely that "red" players wouldn't be very welcome in "blue" guilds. PvE players aren't going to want some PK to break up their raid because there's 1 "red" player in it. The guilds that moved over from Sartok would have a bigger pool to recruit from though, and access to more active markets, etc.
I agree with the OP that a world as big as Telon with 75 people rattling around in it is pretty damn sad. So is running past all of the "ghost" guild halls and houses that are only still sitting there becuase the upkeep hasn't run out yet. Maybe they'll do something about it, or maybe not. Maybe sartok will go down as the ultimate "last PK standing" contest. If you win, don't forget to turn the lights out when you go.

Why would they merge it now, when pop is back up in an upswing, there were time we used to be 30 peeps on prime time, we are back up in the 100 range now, I have a hard time beliving they would merge us and loose half the subs for sartok. As great as VG is some of us would not play with out the FFA.
