It happens every raid. You know what I'm talking about...the "I see seven people in group 2" bug or the "i see dead people" bug. When it happens to you - you have to leave raid and get a re-invite. It wastes time and it's annoying.
Then there's the "I'm in group 3 but I'm locked out of raid" bug. (or group 1 or group 2 as the case may be) That's been around a while too. You don't know you're locked out in group 1-3 until the mob is engaged so there's nothing you can do about it at that point. Good luck getting loot with that one.
I haven't seen any recent posts about this - but old ones are out there as this bug has been around for many months. I do not like the idea of new content being added before the old bugs are fixed.
Will this issue be addressed?

I sure hope so. That is a seriously annoying bug, especially the lockout in groups 1/2/3 thing. The lockout problem wouldn't so bad if they allowed Group 4 to loot, which I strongly suggest!!
Hello Vepa
The Devs are aware of this but lack the ability to reliably reproduce it on their systems so that they may trouble shoot it. Basicly the only way to reproduce it involves many vanguard clients running at the same time in a mini raid joining/leaving/chunking/dieing till it bugs out. Due to the fact that their debug client for vanguard is a insane system hog they can only run 1 client per system so they would need many computers to fully debug/trouble shoot this issue to find/fix the true cause. With out being able to do this the devs are drawing straws in the dark with no way to know if it worked or not until it is pushed to test. Where it can cause even more issues that may or may not get discovered before hitting live.
But rest asured that the devs are working on it.
Mmmm k.
Anyhow, I was there on a recent raid where the person who won the bid on the shoulders? couldn't get it due to this bug. S/He was in G3 and locked out.
Bah.
Well if it helps the devs at all, that bug seems to be even more common when you die and chunk. I'm not talking about raiding, but OT for example has no altar so when you die and release, you chunk. In that case, the bug seems to happen more frequently. There is also that pesky bug that steals all your passive buffs when you die and chunk. I hate that one.
I had this happen the other day before I even got to the raid. I hadn't died or anything. I got the raid invite for BoD, I rifted out, and as I was running to meet everyone, people were still being invited (nobody had even engaged a mob yet to my knowledge).
I had been playing with my UI window layout earlier, and suddenly noticed that a player icon was below one of my chat boxes. I thought I had resized things poorly until I counted.. it was showing 7 people in my group. I clicked on the raid groups as well, and sure enough.. 7 people.
People kept getting moved between groups and things would go from normal, to screwed up, and back and forth lol.
I did chunk when I rifted in, but it wasn't showing me as the 7th member even.
Haven't personally had any loot issues thank god.
I never understood why the devs went with a prefix and suffix. "corpse of Brondo's corpse." Picking one would have reduced the likelyhood of having issues.
Less characters in a string variable reducing the likelihood of seeing additional people in your group? Or people showing up as dead? I'm sorry. I can't follow that logic.
It is a bit annoying. I wonder how long it would take me to figure it out though. I am a master at finding and reproducing bugs like this.
My thought is two raid managers moving the same person at the same time... give it a try OP, bet it'll cause this issue.
If concerned about this, please add to the thread for the player's choice update. My post requesting Raid UI bugs was deleted by the wonderful, ever-lovable mods. I replaced my request with a request to fix 7 people in group. Since that's my one choice for a bug to fix (even though it's RELATED which the ever-intelligent mods would understand if they'd actually ever raided once in their lives), someone else needs to post the folks showing up dead as a SEPARATE bug to fix.
Perfectly happy about this update, but forum moderation is still, imo, the worst thing about this game.

That's because your logic os Non Sequitur. Having checks for both suffix and prefix doubles the likelyhood of having an issue in one or the other. It has nothing to do with multiple people in group. (Non Sequitur)
See it about every raid, and it's not uncommon in groups when people die.
One thing I've noticed is that often (not always), if I see someone as dead, they also see me as dead.
Chunking is one of the primary causes of this bug. The second is having multiple raid assists
If you are chunking while someone is either dying, taking damage, getting healed, joins, leaves, or switches groups within the raid, your client is uncertain which set of data to use (pre- or post-chunk).
Similarily, if two raid assists are inviting or moving people at the same time, some clients do not sync up correctly.
Sometimes simple retargeting the affected person will be enough to fix it, but I have standardized the practice of breaking and reforming the raid before every new encounter to make sure there are no bugs. My guild knows not to accept invites outside of the target chunk now and sometimes correct me on sending early invites
Quit complaining about this in THIS thread, and post this as your request in the PLAYER'S CHOICE UPDATE thread, where this issue might actually be addressed. This issue is NOT currently on the list, much like many of the other UI bugs. Complaining about it here won't get it fixed in the Player's Choice Update.
