This is really getting old .

So I launch the game and find myself on the old "waiting for world servers" message . OK there goes another patch I thought and go the SOE boards .

No announcement .

On top the launch screen confrms with happy green letters : "ALL SERVERS UP ." I retry 2 more times , yes clearly Halgar is down . I even reboot the computer , one never knows .

Well according to SOE I suffer of an illusion and actually am logged in Halgar even if everything is telling me that I am not .

GAME MANAGERS : provide please at least the most elementary service to the player basis which is to inform that a server is down and perhaps even , if it is not asking too much , why it is down and when it will be up .

Yes . I promise to work on my prescience skill much more .

Because to look in the gameplay board for a post 24 hours ago with a vague content instead to look for an announcement saying servers down at that and that hour , a good deal of prescience is needed .

I also admit that my alteration skill is sorely lacking because I unfortunately still tend to interpret "All servers up" on the launch screen as "up" and not "down" .

So it's surely my fault if I was surprised .

Because to look in the gameplay board for a post 24 hours ago with a vague content instead to look for an announcement saying servers down at that and that hour , a good deal of prescience is needed .

1) If you have been around as long as you claim because you are used to halgar being down ALL the time, then you should know that the patcher is NEVER correct, and to assume it will be "this time" is arrogant.

2) The message he posted was NOT made 24 hours prior. It was made at 20:53 (ish) pst. It was patched sometime in the next morning, which even pushing it is 12 hours.

3) If they put it in "game announcements" or "game updates" sections, folks yell because it wasnt announced. But, if they put it in "gameplay discussion" where the mass majority resides, then folks yell because it wasnt in the other 2 sections.

All i said was "look more". It wasnt that hard to find what you needed. Hell, there also is a search function. This was not a personal attack on you, but it really isnt rocket science.

I really don't care where anybody resides and I won't waste my time by searching boards or doing any such activity with random results and it is not because there are people who don't care wasting time looking for information that I should belong to them . As you apparently have 200 times more posts than I have , you enjoy typing on boards . I don't .

The purpose of my post was tto say hat I am paying to play a game and when I am prevented to do it what will obviously happen  from time to time , I expect to be ACCURATELY and IMMEDIATELY informed about the beginning and estimated end of such unavailability . Obviously as I don't want to go mining in some dozen of boards to find it , I expect to find it in a standard obvious place .

Announcements board is such a place , another much better would be the patcher screen (what many other games do) because then I could avoid to go to the boards altogether .

I actually already wasted too much time typing here some very trivial observations about what a normal customer demands as normal service so I hope that the game managers will take action and be done .

Unfortunatly for you, this is an MMO. There is no "immediate" and "timely/acurate" anything in this industry. There is no way to give you "immediate" information, as it still takes time to type.

Then announcement was posted 6-10 hours in advance. Your issue was that you didnt look around to see that announcement. you just assumed (again, you say you been here long enough you should be used to the patcher not telling the truth) that the game was up.
