Actuallty my guild has proven that discs can heal far more effective with a 2H weapon than H2H. Sure you heal for less with inner light but you more than make up for it from your other attacks that benefit from using a weapon with a better damage range. Our main disc has always used a 2h weapon and according to our prases that we run every raid (also most groups) he can out heal almost every disc we have ever had in raid/group by a very large amount. Sometimes even outputing as much as 2x or more and this vs. a disc with twice as much raid gear as him. Don't ask me how he dose it exactly since even he dose not know but the parse data dose not lie.

Sorry mate I don't believe you.. you have to know how a Disc works before you boast a 2h is better than a H2H there is no benefit for healing using a 2h weapon over the H2H the extra range does not help healing. For 1 you can carry an extra Focus item if your using H2H then if you include the up to extra 30% healing using H2H after that then it depends on Vit, HF and keeping combat buffs up.

I did not say disc can not heal but more than 50% of our healing is on targets with full health (Over heals/Wasted healing) that's why they parse so high if you divide that down by 6 that is the closer healing power of the disc but that will still include the wasted over heals.

If you want a real test.... Run each healing type with 1 tank in a group and only parse the tank tell the healers to give it all they have got, over heal, Wards the lot.... Some parse won't pick up wards. Fight the same mob i bet the disc won't parse so good then..

The other healing classes don't need to waste healing but that's what a disc does we can't help it.. it's our class that's why we parse so high. but if your disc is trying to get the highest parse good luck with aggro management.

Hmm i wrote this and i feel it don't belong in this form.....  Apologies.....

Cant Wait for Epic H2H for Disciples  hehe.

Im aware of the over healing fact and so are the ones that run the parse. You only see the over healing if the one runing the parse is the disc but he is not the one parseing, our guild bloodmage and a few of our tanks and sorcs run the parse. So the parse data is from either the tank or someone else other than the disc as the parse is setup to only show how much the disc is in fact healing them and not the disc true out put that is mostly wasted.

What does damage range have to do with amount healed? That was a rhetorical question because the answer is, nada. I personally won't judge the weapon until I see its stats, but I have to clear up this misconception, discs are not melee bloodmages... damage output has nothing to do with heal output.

I had a feeling that was the case, that idea came from our guilds blood mage as he tried to determin why the discs parses were so good.

There are four main factors why one Disciple might parse more heals per second:

1) Is s/he in the same group as someone with Purity+Falling Petals+White Lotus Strike and is that person one of the people who the Disciple's Inner Light is recording?  (Inner Light only parses for two people, while the other four are still being affected if in range of the Disciple.)

2) Is s/he using Concordant Hand+Palm whenever they've refreshed?  (Essentially not worried about aggro.)

3) Is s/he over-healing?  (Pretty easy to tell with Mabs' parser - member > sumup > heals vs damages per healer.)

4) Is s/he not using the energy heals?  (Assuming no one wants to over-heal to make themselves appear better, a person who consistently instant-heals will parse higher than someone who uses slower heals.)

Logically, if a Disciple needs to get as many Inner Light procs as possible, then using faster weapons would be best.

I assume you mean primary hand and secondary hand.  Does this mean the ranger will have another melee weapon besides the bow and shortsword?  Longsword to match would be real nice

Most likely you will get 2 of the short swords.

While this is most likely the case, I hope it does not come to be.  Shortswords have a much smaller/lower damage range than longswords/axes.  I think axes would be out given the background of the weapons, however, a longsword/shortsword combo would fit nicely with the role of the ranger and the background for the weapons.

Hopefully the sword will at least have a better damage range than shortswords tend to...

What are Bards two weapons, by the way? The picture back there shows what looks like a longsword but what is the off hand item? Or do Bards get two of those swords?

Has the sorc epic not been finalized or drawn yet? I haven't seen anything on it and haven't seen a release so I'm unsure if I missed it or if there just isn't one other than the shovel idea by Ikik.

New sorcerer weapon picture up!  I personally think it looks awesome, definitely fits the class.

I know that was posted, but he also said duel wield classes such as bards, ranger, monks, rogues, warriors, disciples will get a weapon for BOTH hands....a shortsword and a bow is not for both hands, so as is the ranged ranger gets a decent deal, but the melee ranger gets gimped unless the stats on the bow are superior to those on the crossbow of stone.  Not to mention, if the weapon is a shortsword it would most likely be used as an offhand weapon with the melee ranger being required to find another weapon to use as their mainhand weapon due to shortswords having lower dmg.

I think a shovel is more fitting for a necro.
