Yes, yes, there is no dev, no animator, no support from SOE, etc.  So, what ideas do we have for "new" things that could be added with little or no actual work on the development side of things?

1.) Masks

We've got a decent variety of masks available already, but a bunch of them are locked away as "holiday" specific.  Some are, I believe, also dev/mod grantable only.  As has already been discussed, make all masks usable all of the time.  This includes the main characters that we don't have pre-created masks of.  

2.) Spawns

I'm still not personally sold on just how much of an impact these could really make in player events (how many times could you trigger a spawn without it becoming "lolz lupin armee attak!!1!".. it could be the same as just another person getting kidnapped, another person getting infected with a kill code, another person getting corrupted by their dark side, etc.). They do however have some use in PEs, and can be a useful and strategic tool in PvP.  We know these tools already exist to some extent, so could they be repurposed for normal use in a simple, easy way with no real work for a dev?

3.) Props

They can be extremely dumb, but they can be fun too.. and they could aid in creating different PEs.  Players should be able to create props (or, more likely, appear as props) like the helicopter, etc .from the anniversary party.

I like the mask idea the most. Seems the most do-able and least risk for ... how you could say, player abuse. Being able to use the Halloween Masks as permanently usable items (like the gang and boss leader masks) of the characters we have would really be awesome for ppl's personal RP events. Even the Holiday Hook... uhm "Helper" mask would be a blast to use year round too ... lol! If anything, got to have "Lady in Red" SMILEY

True to some extent, but if all we ask for is big fixes, total storyline resumption, new gameplay systems, etc. then we truly are never likely to see anything happen.  If we scale back what we are asking for to what is possible within a shorter time frame and with less digging required, I feel it's more likely we may actually see results.  There are still devs who have experience with MxO working at SOE afterall, they just aren't working on MxO right now.  The chances are certainly still small (or smaller than small), but it is possible.

Jeeze oh pete....

Doesn't mean things can't still be suggested if a new crew comes along.  We can dream, and still make the suggestions. I'll go brainstorm with the folks who still like to come up with things. Even if there isn't a Dev as present yet. It's just for the fun and imagination of what we could have if not for anything else.  Imagination - is a great thing to have.

It would take what, a hour dev work max to unlock the masks?  (I know you're not here to respond but I just don't think the request is unreasonable or time intesive).

Lets put it another way.  If either Former MxO Dev A or Former MxO Dev B, who are both working 100% on The Agency, can be borrowed for an hour to set up mask unlocking for the next patch, well then that's 99.5% of their time spent on The Agency and 0.5% on MxO.  Is that unreasonable?  Or is SOE, absolutely, utterly, 10000000% commited to not having anyone spending a nanosecond on MxO forevermore, end of story, and that's written in granite?  I'm not ready to grant the latter....yet.

One litmus test for me will be if there is any type of ingame item or reward for those who preregister for FF'09.  If there isn't anything, than I think we can safely assume that SOE has washed their hands of us for good.

To this point, if it gets to the point where we have it confirmed that this is an officially nonsupported game, then I'd actually prefer this section of the forum be locked and removed.  Anything else is false hope and I'm personally not into RL RP. 

But like I said in my prior post I don't think we're quite there yet!

I just think theyd be a nice image to add to the game, based on the amount they were in the movies... Vehicles.

No matter what people seem to think, Vehicles would be an easy add-in. We see it in the Party events all the time where they make our models into vehicles in the game. Just make it a mask and increase movement speed and youve got a working car. Helicopter is another story, youd need infinite Z movement like a HJ on steroids, which makes these only useful in evading combat better XD.

The main problem is the effect it would have on running away from a fight or attack, and they would prolly kill the Spy tree when the person is on the run. But make them unusable in combat and I think this can be fixed.

Just an idea that Ive been throwing around since Beta... still prolly gonna get the "Why" and "No" responses... but Im still hoping atleast.

Making an easy fix isn't the same as turning an RSI into a car. 

Turning an RSI into a car isn't the same as making cars available.

Making cars available isn't the same as making them work realistically. 

Making cars work realistically isn't the same as satisfying the playerbase. 

Your suggestion is divorced from reality.

Its no fun and games being a van, taxi, or ROFLcopter...let me tell you!

How this came about was me, as my Recursion alt MissLola, dared Dracomet to turn me into a Helecopter.  He came through then that led to the Autobot mayhem that you saw

I'll have to put up those screenies.  It was tricky though, as a vehicle you have to move backwards to make it look remotely normal, and forget about the Chopper cause the blades go all perpendicular to the length.  Many lulz were had!

Oh and the funniest thing was we all went searching for a new player in Uriah, we found one and surrounded him and asked him if he had the All-Spark, lol
