I think that having a having a section for each worlds player events would be fine however I think that doing what has been done, leaving them and the stories in the general section for the game world is the best method. I personally dont visit that often the recruiting or marketplace forums that much but check back in the general section nearly every 10 minutes or will hit refresh every few minutes if im not in game.

I was a little peeved to go to the forum for the game world I play on, Syntax, and found all the recent player events and recent roleplay had been moved. I calmed down after a brief moment of *CENSORED*!?! and thought about things.

The events and roleplay were on the gameworld forums for a reason Walrus, namely, because they were concerning the players on that server. Now I guess it's pointless to post any RP (which sometimes have events to go with them) or player events (which are more often than not on Syntax to be RP related) on the gameworld forums and try to get people on those servers involved and stop the bleeding while we wait for LE to start up eh? I've watched a lot of people walk away from this game and I have a feeling that more will probably go now that all server specific RP has to be in a single forum with everyone elses RP. Now, when RP of one server gets mixed up with the RP of other servers, it will create confusion as people try to figure out which is what and where and tags will become horrendously long.

Of Forums and Brick walls. (The Next RP Chapter in the Saga of Killmajumbon00b for Syntax concerning the Cypherites of Syntax and not the Cypherites of any other server, nor is it related to the Tale of Killmajumbon00b which is occuring on blah blah blah... )

((Yes Dorothy, even when kinda mad/disappointed, I have a sense of humour.))

I suggested an rp forum before for each server, here and on the old boards, but I have a feeling nobody is listening or cares.

So yeah, make a forum on each game world for PE.

As for a RP forum for each server?

Maybe this time somebody will listen.

Make it a combo PE/RP forum if you want.

But this is the last time I make this suggestion.

:smileysad:

I'm too old and tired to keep hurling myself at a brick wall.

P.S. So where am I supposed to post a movie I've been working on for a week that is RP? The Next Renassaince? RSI forum? In my .. ahem ... ear? Seriously, where am I supposed to put it? I was going to put a link in RSI cause it's cool and also a link in Syntax to put it in the game world where it's actually relevant, but now I don't know what I'm supposed to do or where I'm supposed to put it ...

((Despair despair feel sorry for self have headache wonder why everything has to be difficult kicks cat gets clawed into a bloody mess by same cat throws cans at large grizzly bears and cougars gets smashed by a giant foot that comes out of the sky from nowhere accompanied by a farting sound omg omg omg the world is ending AAAAAAAHHHHHH))

I would like to have either a seperate section for each world or return it to the way it was before, in General. I never go to the recruiting or the marketplace sections, but enjoy easily reading and posting to threads that pertain to my world i. I don't like having to search over a million-billion other posts to find one from my friends and fellow Recursionites... or Recursioners.... or whatever.

i
agree with this, i like things the way they were, in general. i never
really look at the other sections of the forums, i have no reason to
and its very convienent to have it all in one place. (if you havnt
discoverd already, im lazy) plus i saw some threads that were moved
that IMO shouldnt have been moved cause they were just fine where they
were, but im not a mod. so yeah anyways, i agree with the above quote.

I think it would be efficent if there was an Events forum for each world.  That way all the events for that world are organized and not cluttered up with the general posts. SMILEY

I vote to have an Events forum in the World Section.

Matter of fact why not do the best of both worlds.

Example

World1
  --General
  --Markeplace
  --Recruiting
  --Events

World2
  --General
  --Markeplace
  --Recruiting
  --Events

AND

An Events section which is simply the events forums

Events
--World1  (points to the above forum)
--World2  (points to the above forum)

w00t everyone is happy and is probably do-able with the BBS software you have access too.

This is the best idea I've seen regarding this issue... It seems to combine the best of both worlds (or all three, really).

At the moment, I'm thinking it might be nice to divide the Player Events section into one forum for each world. It puts all the notices closer to the "front" of the forums for quick reference.

That's my 2$i. What about you?

This is fine but we would really like our stories to be seen by the members of our own world in our own world forum.  Honestly, how many people would make a level 2 noob to participate in an event on another world?

We really like having our stories on our own world forum, as it does apply specifically to the gaming world and ongoing storyline of Recursion, not the entire matrix.  Posting a story about a character in the general posting area of Recursion is not against the forum rules.  It is about a player in Recursion.  It is not trolling.  They are well written and specific to the Matrix and Recursion.

We have always done this.  Even when I first started playing and posting my stories in the general area so that the people I play with could see, I asked them if they minded.  No one did.  We have all encouraged our writers to continue to post their stories there.  We would like to keep doing so, or to have specific "player event" forum in the same area as "Marketplace," "General," and "Recruiting" for each server.

Edit:

3 seperate player event forums would be a good idea.

On a slightly realted note, a seperate RP forum for each world.  I went to check the Syntax forums earlier and found, to my horror, that all teh RP threads have been moved to the next renaissance forum.

I found it was much better haveing them in the Syntax forum as we actually know and interect with teh people that the RP threads are about, having them all in the NR forum makes it so much harder to keep track of evolving stories and trying to separate which threads are actually from syntax is time consuming.

So an RP forum for each world would be a good idea, either that or just leave those threads where they are.

I'm all for keeping things clean cut and easy to navigate, so I'm on
the band wagon of having a Player Events section and then a forum for
each world.  I didn't really care for the old boards in that
respect, to much to keep track of, this option presents us with one
location on the front page of the community for us to access our events.

I agree that the RP and Players events sections should be sub-divisions of each player world. For ease of navigation and moderation for all. Also, since the merge, there are many persons on each server who are new to each other. Some are doing parties, RP events, etc. as a way to bring the old worlds into one.

Having to search through hundreds of posts to find ones that applies to your server is tedious and unnecessary. Any person from another server wishing to learn about the atmosphere on another can easily find that information as well, if the forums are separate.

The RP, player events and PVP postings are what brings a certain "atmosphere" to each playing ground. It will be a further confused mess (as it is now look at the Next Renaissance board) if it's not divided among worlds. It also assists us to learn one another as a community and keep current on what is going on daily. Please do not take away what we had left.

I personally would just like to be able to click on the server level and see all threads not
divided.  Its the one thing I really liked about the old
forums.  I didn't have to go down to the "General Discussion"
level; I could click on Linenoise (or Syntax) and see all posts under
one list.   Less clicking is good.   But  I
guess I'm odd like that.

I personally think that Events should not be branched under World forums, I would prefer people announce their events in the general world forum, as more people see it and participate.  The percentage of people that would actually view the World Event forum, IMO, would be quite low, damaging turnout for player held events.

As far as RP is concerned, I feel that those threads very quickly get lost in the mess of the general forums because the people who really are interested may not have the time or even know to sort through the rest.  I would like to see an RP forum that was world specific, however, our posters could take it upon themselves to identify what type of post it is in the subject line.  Enforcing this would be difficult, I suppose, but it would look something like Lady Return's post:

Story: Fever Pitch

Everyone immediately knows it is a story.  Same for events.  The Hunt for Azyanna could read in the subject line:

Event: The Hunt for Azyanna

I know some people already mentioned this, but I"m just adding on to it.  I just enjoy how our world forums are all about us and our players, if that means events and RP too, I'm all for that as well.

I think it would be better to have a forum specific to each world for events, but also have the main central Player Events forum like we do now.
