I don't realy know if this should be here but I think we need a command to copy a buddylist over servers, and of course over chars. I haven't found such command yet so discuss.

Is it not in your profiles on your main directory, although you would have to change them all if they are on another server so that would be redundant..... SMILEY

nah buddy lists are char specific and serverside, if they were that easy to move it probably would be common knowledge around here as to how to do so.

Also if the buddy lists were client side then you may have the same kind of problems with the /savelo and /loadlo system, where the savelos are not character specific.

Best I've been able to come up with is to make Macros of buddies with full server extensions in notepad. Then you can paste and make the macro for each alt and use it to add the buddies. That was a good way to add all the new Liaisons to each alt but for long lists it's still a lot of work.

Would be nice if there were a /buddies command that would list them all with full server extensions in the system window. Then you could at least get the full list to your chatlog.

I believe you can adda friend with the server extension of the same server youre on, and it'll just take the server part off automatically.  Example: I would type /friend Syntax.Xintax88 on the Syntax server and it would just save it as Xintax88.

This means that you can copy, from one of the servers, your buddy list to notepad, and just tag server extensions on all the names without it, therefore being able to just copy the list to each server....

This is all theoretical though, too lazy to try it myself but....give it a shot! SMILEY

That method works exactly how you stated (the addition of the server prefix before the name and having the prefix not appear if the character added is on the same server).  I've been using notepad-copied macros to copy buddy lists on other characters for a long time now; works like a charm.  I just have a series of small macros adding a number of friends at a time (as there is a character limitation in each entry when you plop it into MxO on the chat-line) that I copy in and activate one at a time, adding the friends listed on each macro successfully.

Also, the /ca <friend name> command works just like the /friend <friend name> command, but takes up less character-space (IE great for using in notepad-copied macros)...just a little FYI.  SMILEY

Heh, I've been writing things down the old fashioned way - pen and paper.
