It's been brought up several times all over the forums to encourage more pvp in the constructs, i thought of an idea a while back not to sure if it's already been suggested.

From the loading area you have the option to load into the constructs obviously with no availible hardline there and it does nothing, it's been like this for aslong as i can remember obviously there was some intention to do something with it during original development... now to the point.

If we were able to jack into the construct immediatly Via the hardline this would increase pvp in the constructs, i thought up some Pro's and Con's

Give me some feedback.

Pros

  • Constructs get used frequently for Pvp
  • Cuts down lag around certain hardlines
  • Stops pvpers saying "OMG PWNED", "GF" In certain hotspots when others are trying to roleplay and interact.

Cons

  • The Archivist would'nt be used as much anymore.

My take on it: Make the ability to hardline into the constructs for players of the Neurokinetic level of 40-50 only I'm suggesting this for pvp reasons your beloved archivist can still sit there you will also still need the book equipped to go there even if the stability loss is greater.

  • It would be harder to farm items for others

My take on it: It's pvp enabled for a reason farming with the risk of being killed involved.

Tell me what you think?

Yeah something like this defo needs to be done. Fair enough 3 mins ain't that long but if your dyin as soon as you go in (like the ninja extraficant in Sati's) it puts people off.

In my opinion the constructs seem to have been a waste of time. Whenever i go in, your lucky to have another 1 or 2 people in with you. With my recent lvln up on syntax, when theres no pvp at mara i of course go to hit up the pvp constructs but to no avail, never anyone.

More activity and pvp elsewhere, a must.

The only thing about Mara C pvp is that it shows new players the lvl 50 pvp and it gives a gives them a decent idea (on non-hostile servers) about the population. That said, being able to go straight into a construct for pvp is a great idea it's a change of scenery and does what the constructs are meant for. Plus no blue sniping, logic canon etc...

I haven't been playing even remotely as long as you chaps have, and i must say that mara c is getting really boring. Both to fight at, and as a place to hang around.

With the new crits being placed in downtown, i hoped to see people find a new place to socialize, or even pvp there. But alas, as soon as everyone did the new missions, the place died again. The same thing will happen over and over again, unless changes are made, and this is a rather good idea for a change.

Those that sit around half afk or chatting and occasionally throw in that staggering throw/lc/far, whatever, when they are sure of a cq will be separated from thoes who actively seek for a brawl. They may still do that when people do flag, and may still hang around the hl just to talk and hold the communnity's face before new player. But if one looked for the real deal where everyone is flagged by default, constructs are the way, and adding quick access to them may just do the pvpers and the "danger" aspect of constructs justice.

only thing is the jack in procedure would  have to recoginze what org you belong to, maybe if you had to have a book to jack in directly.

or make it an extra expensive book or something not super expensive but something so it would tell which org you belong to.

If you read the first post, i do say to have the archives book equipped, and as far as im aware as soon as the construct loads up the system flags you to your currently allighned organization.

Extra costs or Greater stability loss either is good.

If this was to succeed and increase pvp in the constructs the next step would be to invent incentives like the CQ count idea you could have (AP) Archive Points just for example sake.

Whenever you kill someone in the archive you would get "1 CQ and 10 Archive points"

Which you would then trade in for temporary consumables like I.s boosters and you could even bring back Anti facilitator pills this could lead to a majority of things like Luggables that give AOE buffs, it would mean you dont have to be a Pvp God to participate.

THIS THREAD IS ABOUT CONSTRUCT PVP NOT CQ REWARDS PLEASE DO NOT STRAY FROM THE ORIGINAL TOPIC.

I don't see many ways in which this would be a problem to implement as it wouldn't require any new animations. The only roadblock I would foresee is checking org affiliation for Zero One so as to place you at the right entry point (wouldn't matter in Datamine or Sati's due to random entry points). Then again I don't know how that works so it could be an easy fix.

Maybe make it so all levels could jack straight into these constructs for fairness' sake. As for those that would argue it ruins the experience of going through the actual archivist you could change him to something like a hardline where you could right click him and all the archives whose respective books you have would come up as options to enter...

Whole heartedly agree. This change would deffinately see an increase in archive activity (:

And after just loading into the loading are for a chance i remembered something. Its practically already there. In the section in the loading are that you use to select phones theres two subsections "Hardlines" and "constructs" (theres a third not present but has a section at the top "Hardline" i assume there was more to gettin in that just phone booths but it was removed.) So it would just be a matter of inserting the sub menu of constructs listing all the places you have a book for or all the places available and do a validation check with the book/level/org when you select an area.

I think this idea is great. PvP at Mara C in the same area all the time get's borring. Last night we had some PvP at Tabor W. and it turned out to be great fun. Using the constructs more creative for both PvP and other fun is an idea support. Let's get this rolling.

What about using the archivist instead would bring you into the archive Unflagged. The penalty for going in quick from the loading screen is you become flagged for PvP. Also, if we want to focus PvP there, would there be a way to remove the death penalty when you come into a construct?

Construct PvP died the moment that they enabled "/pvp".  Back in Beta, we were always in 01 PvPing.  Of course at the time it was much different but ever since they enabled pvp in the Matrix, no one hardly enters the constructs unless its to farm something.  Which I feel is a shame.

Afterall, we've had "Constructs" listed on our hardline options ever since I can remember, why not utilize that in some manner?  Perhaps there could be a direct hardline into the Construct that is only accessible by synchronizing with a very expensive key.

At any rate, I'm not opposed to Endo's ideas and support anything to increase construct usage.
