A quick suggestions in response to this thread covering CQ points.

A number of community members are asking for something meaningful from the existing CQ point system, and here is my suggestion.

Each organisation should have access to an item, not too disimilar to
the Zion Hardware Requisition (and org counterparts) which granted a
bonus to combat toughness. This would be purchased from a vendor,
perhaps via the book stores that house the Archivists?

Now, the very simple bit. On each instance, a simple three column
database for Zion, Merovingian and Machine organisations. Every time a
player scores a CQ point, this is added
to the overall total for that organisation; this in itself should be
low on development commitment.

The 'counter' could be reset on a daily, weekly or monthly basis...or
it could simply rage on. It goes without saying that all three
organisations would start from zero. Resetting the counter means that
the leading organisation would not get complacent, if they were far
away in the lead, and gives an under performing organisation a to regroup
and try again.

Once the item has been collected/purchased from the vendor, it is then
usable as per the aformentioned buff-granting item. When the item is
used, a simple check is carried out on the database, and the player is
granted a buff based on the position of his/her organisationin the 'CQ
Table'. For example:

1st place - Buff 15%

2nd place - Buff 10%

3rd place - Buff 5%

So, in this case, you're fighting to get, and maintain an advantage; or
play catch up. The organisation in 3rd place, for example, would need
to better co-ordinate their PvP to catch up the 2nd place organisation,
and so on. If I were the leaders of key PvP factions in the 3rd place
organisation, i'd be planning more abmushes and ruses to draw
vulnerable enemies into the open, etc.

The devs could even have the buff changed along with the counter each
day/week/month, using a list of pre-defined buffs in a table.

This kind of thing has happened before, during the early Monlolith events, although
not exactly as i've described, with exactly the same mechanics.

All quite simple and straightforward, as usual. SMILEY

Comments welcome!

Cheers,

Rsync

I dont know if that would fair though, I mean certian orgs, merv for example, have a problem with pvping in terms of numbers, Zion would have the advantage just in terms of the number of people in that org. Maybe if it were on a personal level, such as every time you make 10 CQ points you get 1 point of buffness. Gives a sence of accoplishment in a way.

I'm not so sure that's a good idea.  Wouldn't you think that would just make the strongest even stronger, while crippling the weak?

Yeah, it's all about balance. The problem with induvidual CQ rewards is
that it isn't really promoting a great amount of teamwork, in my view.
Speaking for what i've seen on Recursion, it gets very balanced around
Mara Central...always one main faction from each organisation present
in numbers.

Zane, point taken, however the counter resetting would stop one org
having a ridiculous 'run of form'. At the end of the day, the weak
would have something to fight for, something to motivate them to get
better organised.

Cheers,

Rsync.

I'll be completely honest.  I believe Pvp will be fixed... when the Truce breaks.
