I propose a solution to the PvP clothing situation!  Vis-a-vis, the RSI Model Manipulator.

Details: Right Click and select "Activate Item" to change your RSI's model into a previously saved shell.  Use /savemodel to save your RSI's model.

When you type /savemodel, your current character's model, including clothing is saved.  When you use this item
, it changes your RSI into that of a previously saved shell, ergo you can PvP with horrid clothing AND look cool at the same time!

All you would need is to buy the RSI Model Manipulator from a Downtown Item Vendor for $i10,000,000, and use the /savemodel command.

Very good idea, I'm in favour of anything that allows us to fight in style, without compromising effectiveness.... however as a spy there is an issue, current masks do break when you adopt a genuine disguise, its something I could live I guess but if the rsi overlay could remain once the disguise has expired that would round out the suggestion 100% imo.

Well I mean, I'm not a end game PVPer so my opinion may not be valid on this one, but looking good with the fashion of the game is balanced. You have to dress like a clown to kick *CENSORED*, and be a carebear when you look good! ;D

Excellent idea. I don't know if it's feasible, but if it is this would be a great addition to the game. Being able to PVP without having to wear purple pants, a bright green trench, et cetera would do wonders for the immersion factor, which MXO is atm lacking.

One idea I just had - they'd need to make it so this was disabled while Rarebit applies NPC models to players in Live Events. Otherwise players would be able to /savemodel Effectuator, Assassin, etc. While that would be cool, I don't think that's exactly what the devs have in mind ^^

Well, wouldn't this change have to be server-side? But to be able to edit this manually would be client side. So, couldn't this open a path to possible hacking?

Great idea, I'd love it but like Tytanya said, disguise breaks masks, so if they could work around that it'd be perfect.

Love the idea. I'm sure, with just a bit more understanding of the true workings of the games (Ergo, what the devs know), that this could work. Would be awesome to see.

It's a novel take on the clothing idea and could work I guess, but the disguises we have at current are complete models, this system would have to be able to cope with the conversion from the parts system that player RSIs use and the complete model system that disguises use.

The /saveRSI command or whatever doesn't have to be client side. /copychar for example was a server side command that copied a database row to a new table. This would be similar I guess. There could be a problem with the item system this game uses, but if the item (manipulator) can be configured to act as a database command (removing the need to type /saveRSI whatever) then that would be better, no?

For example, player buys the manipulator item and then selects the clothes they'd like to wear (making sure they are wearing them when they use the manipulator). That then copies the current clothing selection to whatever database table and removes the manipulator item from the player's inventory. At the same time it copies the new RSI mask item to their inventory - this is used to actually fetch the "disguise" data and display it. It too would be singleton.

However then we have a problem of people being able to buy another manipulator while owning a disguise, so perhaps the vendor system would need to be set up so that you must trade in the RSI mask item and info at the same time to buy a manipulator. If a player doesn't have the RSI mask item to trade, they can buy a ticket to run a short one phase mission to pick one up from an NPC.

The price is a little steep and the location of the vendor restrictive for player lower than 40 or so. This can be countered by making the price tied to the players level. Perhaps specific vendors in each district that will cater only for specific player levels - if that's possible.

Meh, my PvP gear looks cool without an aid.

Shop around, I say.
