I haven't seen this posted as of yet, and have searched many threads. If there is a simple fix (crosses fingers) I'd greatly appreciate a link or advice. My issue is pretty simple. I log in and virtually everything is black. Almost like the gamma or contrast is set to an extreme. I can see my avatar, and I can see the moon. When I jack-in, I can see all the buildings outlines as the green lines of text stream down. However as soon as I'm completely jacked in, I can only see about 2 or 3 feet in front of me. Suggestions? Questions? I'm running Vista Ultimate/Windows XP Pro on a dual boot system and will paste a dxdiag if requested. I was running MXO on Vista and experienced this same issue, plus all the other issues with shading I've read other people are having. Everything seems fine on XP with the exception of not being able to see anything. Again, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I was going to post the dxdiag but it far exceeds the maximum posting size. I can parse as necessary if anyone can assist. Thanks.

The sky is dark for halloween event. There are some useropts you can do to change that, but the event is over soon

I think this is less to do with your computer and more to do with the game unfortunatly. As it is currently the Halloween event in the Matrix, everything has gone dark and the moon has got really big as well as there being zombies and things around the place, which kinda makes things hard to see, but adds to the spooky feel of the place. Some people find it kinda annoying and i can imagine as a new player it can be frustrating, but i think there is useropts fixes someone more in the know about that can help to lighten up the screen a bit. That being said, the event ends on Thursday with a new update, so everything should be nice a visable after that

I see. I have seen many references to this useropts.cfg, and I can't find the file. I have had windows search for it in my mxo directory, as well as searched for referenced text in files. Can't find it what-so-ever. So if anyone can assist with this next dilema, I can search for what to modify to un-halloween it. LoL. Or wait to play until Thursday. Thanks for all the help thus far!

Sorry should have said, nobody has a useropts file at first, what you wanna do is create a document in notepad and save it in your MXO folder as useropts.cfg As for what you should type in it, check here: http://forums.station.sony.com/mxo/..._id=36300026169 Also need to make changes in your file and save it, before you start the game or it won't affect it.

Seems that after I went into the first mission (navigated mostly by map) when I exited everything was brighter. Not sure if this was day/night difference. I'm pretty certain this is the Halloween event that I'm experiencing. Thanks for all the quick assistance tho!

Yes, it is the Halloween event. Not to worry, it's over in a few days. (thank god)
