lol, MxO: still in Beta.
Oh, I've found the (a?) problem with the 'latest post' link not working: someone hardcoded the posts-per-page value to 10 when it creates that link. It still uses our preferences when it creates the page lists though, leading to pages appearing incorrectly for some people - and it's why Phluff seemingly fixed it by changing her preferences to 10 posts per page.
For example, when I entered this thread just now, the link had 'start=40' in it, but moving to the end of the thread manually I went through a link with 'start=45' in it (I have 15 posts per page).
Why? Why was the number hardcoded into the link generator? It wasn't before!

Just noticed a problem with quoting pointy brackets. I don't think it happened before this forum update, but I'm not absolutely sure about that. Might also occur with other characters used in HTML markup--haven't checked. The problem: if you quote a post containing text surrounded by pointy brackets, , the brackets and what was between them don't show up in the edit window while you're writing your addition to the quoted text, and don't show up in the resulting post you make. For instance, if someone quotes this post, my previous sentence will have just ", ," in it instead of the "like this" words that were there between the brackets.
just testin... yep.
Yup. I noticed that a few days ago, but didn't mention it because I couldn't remember if it used to do that before. Looks like it hides anything even slightly HTML-like.
One of the first things I learnt when doing Web development was to turn any greater/less-than symbols in non-HTML input (such as posts made with a GUI like this) into their respective character codes so they don't behave like HTML in the final output. You don't just remove them and their contents!
Web development 101 guys. They're disregarding the most basic design practises. (Although I confess it could be the TinyMCE people who fouled this time, might not be Web Presence. Someone's being an idiot, whatever the case.)
Can we just get a rollback? This update broke everything and fixed nothing.
Virrago,
I still don't have any color selections when choosing the Color Pallete.
ER, i cant View/Send PM's and the link on my profile is missing.. not sure if its due to the update or not as it was fine a few days ago >_> tried relogging a few times and cleaning out my cookies, my other account works fine. O.O
