This mainly applies to the faction leader position, and they're ability to manage the faction. All I ask is that we have free reign on how we promote, demote and remove other crews.

As the leader of a faction, if they ever came a time that I needed to demote a Rank 1 crew, I am unable too because due to the current mechanics, they are the same rank as me, even though I am the leader. The leader should have their own seperate rank, so they can promote, demote and remove as they see fit. As of right now, once a crew is promoted to Rank 1, they are there to stay, which is kind of strange.

Now, the most obvious would be: "Oh, you should be most trusting of who you promote." This is true, however - it doesn't erase the fact that later on that particular Captain may do something that you don't find trusting in your eyes, and you don't want to kick them out of the faction, but rather just demote back to Rank 2 for a while.

It's not a pressing issue, just something I think would help give faction leaders a bit more flexibility in managing their factions' ranks.

More faction control controls is something that I would definitely love to see.. and am sure to comment on every time the topic is raised.  This particular issue though is a twist on the common one.

Beyond what Mystic has stated, there's also the issue of inactivity.  There may be absolutely no question of trust or worthiness whatsoever, but what if a fellow rank 1 captain becomes inactive for whatever reason?  That's another good reason for allowing a leader to promote/demote as they see fit.  Right now the only option is to creatively disband the entire faction and then reform it instead of what should take a few simple mouse clicks.

In this same vein, I'd like the current system of maximum/minimum numbers of ships in each ship ranking level removed.  There seems to be some sort of ratio in place where you can't have less than X number of ships as rank 3s if you only have Y number of ships as rank 2s, etc.  As a faction leader, I should have control over how many ships are in whatever rank without dealing with silly arbitrary ratios.  Why can't I have 1 ship in each rank 1 through 5 and 15 ships in rank 6 if I so choose?  *shrug*

I concur with that as well. Under the current system though, that L next to the flagship is just worthless.

Found a few threads about more faction control and I never got any answers from a Dev. who would or could confirm what is posible? Maybe if you PM a Dev to find out? I would like to hear there answer on the "Faction issues".

Control, i would say a better overview and more options for a faction, not just leader alone tho.

Yeah I did a search on it and noticed that as well. I skimmed a few of them, a couple of them are pretty far fetch'd, but most of them seem like it might be a relatively simple matter to impliment (of course, make a liar out of me).

I believe in the end, they're all good ideas and just some Dev input would be greatly appreciated. As I stated in my original post, it's not a priority - just would be nice.

I never understood the Rank1 thing to be honest.

I think we should have some more options as Faction leaders.

And I know this isnt this thread but I love the Idea of hovercraft loading areas for crews. Very very good idea! SMILEY

What i would like to see is being able to look into crews. See whos full/low numbers. If Someone on my ship is going MIA or just hasnt been active for months.  I would like to be able to move them down to a different crew. Maybe one setup for players are inactive. Another things. Like most other games. See whos been on. Last time they were logged on, etc.

if i remember correctly (it's been years though) Guild Wars had something that showed you how many days it's been since a guild person logged in. I think that would be helpful for leaders of a crew.

That's some good ideas. And good enough that anyone in the faction should be able to see when the last time a factionmate has jacked in.

I am pretty sure there is a command (?) to email a message to your entire crew without having to type out their names. I would like to see such a command for the faction, or learn that there is one that exists.

To write a mail to your crew without writting down all their names just type "crew;" I actually did request for a command to faction mail.

So, is it possible or not? Just a way for that L next to the flagship's name to be something more than eye candy (if you can even call it that...). Leaders may just as well be a regular crew in the faction the way things are right now. I just really think it would benefit us a bit if we had a bit more control.

Right now, the hassle of remaking an entire faction just to deal with an inactive or insubordinate crew seems a bit extreme to maintain peace within the faction.

Yea guild wars uses one of the best methods i've seen its very informative and allows ease of use when it comes to managing a faction situation. Although in the scale of things a guild on guild wars is more like a crew. an alliance is a group of guilds (faction in our case) and the alliance leader doesn't have any direct control over the alliance its down to the guild leaders to initiate rule over the guild. (that said they're Rank 1 doesn't have the option for more than one person its two ranks. Leader and everyone else.

Heres the GUI for guild managment:

This is the rooster screen showing everyone in the guild it has last active listed aswell as who invited them and when they joined. Not only this it also lists other characters they play (although that wouldn't or shouldn't be included in MXO since in GW when a player joins a guild they join with all they're characters).

THis part shows every event regardng the guild invites/kicks/leaving. as well as a guild "MOTD".

This is all very well but what are the chances of getting an improvment since last i checked or heard from rare, drac was quite busy on something he couldn't even ask him to do some he wanted. :s
