Hey. I still can't get those half-code parameters to work... Any chance I could take a look at your useropts file, Bay?Something must be broken in mine.

Is it just me or does wr_envdaylength just reset the day back to the greenish daylight now?  Can't get the weather to stay at the current MxO weather...

Meh, haven't had the time to keep this updated lately.

Replies:
Void, I did some more playing with the half code, and I'm a bit stumped as well. When I made those MV suggestions, I tested them at blend = .7, and it worked, so naturally I assumed lower values would work as well. They don't seem to go past a certain threshhold of blending.

wr_envdaylength appears to be working fine for me on the regular day cycle.
 -----------------------------------------------------------------
New stuff:

CompassMinimized = 1 # a little UI tweak to a feature that just annoyed me

CursorAutoPathTo = true # your cursor becomes a targeting reticule, hold shift and click the spot you want to run to. good for filming when people can't seem to run in a straight line. Source description: "If true, the cursor will automatically enter "PathTo" mode when over a valid nav-poly."
CursorMaxPathToBlindDistance = 999999 # "The maximum distance the player will walk in a straight line if they do PathTo without a valid nav-poly under the cursor."

I've been tweaking my combat UI a bit also but haven't decided to post the parameters or not yet.

Here is a question, can someone tell me what settings I can add/change/replace in useropts to increase my viewing field, or at the very least, when the building change from low to high quality.

It is becoming incredibly difficult to film a movie when the backgrounds keep changing from low to high and vice versa...

Any help on this would be appreciated. I don't need insane settings, since I don't have the best computer in the world.

There is no actual useropt for that, the thing I think would work is

EnterWorldCmd = "/mood mood",

However I believe that is an admin-only feature, so the short answer is sorry, you can't do that. You could however make a macro /macro a /mood mood;, and whenever you login just type /a and you'll be in the mood you desire.

Ahhh, I remember seeing that command a while back.  Then a macro it is, Thanks for the reply

I gave the various overbright/screenglow commands a try, with some educated guesses for figures. So far I've failed to discover the right numbers, resulting in no noticable changes or the following abomination:

Can anyone advise me?

I dunno if this has been asked before but is it possible to make the game show the whole distric you are at so it doesn't always have to load the buildings and create latency? I got good ram.

Many many months old reply: I'm not really a "max gfx" kind of guy, as I only have 1 GB to work with testing myself. I'm sure the Bazman's 4.0 would be more than sufficient; you could down-tweak it a bit if needed.

So with winter break I have a little time to play around again. Maybe release some oldies I haven't posted yet, with some new discoveries... ?

I remember someone, maybe Sykin a while back asked for "extra contrast." For those of you who didn't figure it out already, well the tools were all there.

Extra Contrast

ScreenFilters_GreenShift_Color_1_R = 0
ScreenFilters_GreenShift_Color_1_G = 0
ScreenFilters_GreenShift_Color_1_B = 0
ScreenFilters_GreenShift_Color_0_R = 0
ScreenFilters_GreenShift_Color_0_G = 0
ScreenFilters_GreenShift_Color_0_B = 0

Before, after, and with overbright on:

Now, if that's a bit "too dark," you could always compensate slightly by upping the gamma a bit, or by turning on ModelLighting. It's all about preference...

Combat Stuff

I happen to prefer tweaking little combat things here and there. Here's a few examples (I'm working on memory, the two may be flip flopped):

ShowAllHealthInCombat = 1 # This will show both your and your opponent's health bar in interlock combat (floating above your names). Useful so you don't forget how much health you have, and don't have to glance at the top right of the screen.

AlwaysShowHealth = 1 # This will show everybody's health bars above their heads without having to mouse over them. Useful for 6v6 tourneys and teamwork in general, or just picking targets. Ctrl + T will turn off both of these options.

I've come to terms with that I'm probably going to never have the time or the drive to make a movie or graphic novel. Thus, any little effects I was playing with exclusively... well it doesn't make any sense to hide them anymore, does it? I don't think I'll see this in every screen shot from now on like ScreenFilter stuff, but hey, whatever floats your boat SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=" />

[removed ;p]

Tis all for now. Happy Holidays!

My favourite setting is still wr_fogfardist = 0 (or a number of your choice less than 0). Gives a noir kind of touch.

Also, that code skeleton you've showed there is reproduceable ... by chance. When you lag out for a few seconds while you have hyper-speed on, there will be a huge amount of code floating in the air, slowly condensing together to a skeleton.
