Even if mose 50s don't have all the special items, almost all 50s have
tried to get them, some for long hours, some with $info from long hours
of play. To take them away when the system was set up that way in the
first place is wrong. I've spend millions upon millions for items I
could no longer get. If that was a waste, I'd like the $info back to
use on whatever new thing takes the old ones place. The only difference
in IL now is the buffed items. If that's not so, fight naked next time
and see how long you last! ;P

I agree, this CR2.0 sounds interesting.  Can't wait to see the revision in action. Will this be the next step in freeing our mind?

Hurry hurry hurry with the QA server!  We're dyin' over here!

I hope some of the cartoony animations will be toned down to give it more of a Matrixy feel.  The Precise Blow (for example) animations are gaudy and take me out of the Matrix.  I'd prefer more subtle animations.  With a new Combat Upgrade we can have real Burly Brawls!!  :smileyhappy:

Also, again, I'm still wary about the ability-granting items being nerfed or decayed out of the game.  Please devs, handle it better than you did when the reflow occured.  When the clothing buffs were changed ages ago the buffs were just changed, not decayed out of the game so you didn't have to get everything all over again.  Either that or remove all buffed clothing out of the game.  If you want a real level playing field, that's one way to go about it (not my favorite, but at least it would be consistent).

I don't know how many of you have seen or played StarWarsGalaxies, but since SWG's combat upgrades, the game has seriously fallen down hill and is a horrible game to play.  What made MXO such a great game was it's current combat system with some buggs and kinks to iron out.  From what I have read on this topic, the devs have turned MXO into SWG and this new CR2.0 is going to ruin the game.  Walrus or any other developer that might read this, please don't make the same mistakes that SOE did to SWG.  Please don't ruin this game as well.  Most people that still play MXO, play it because of the idea itself, the people that still remain, and that it is completly different from any other MMORPG out there.  Please, please don't turn it into another SWG or WOW.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed as well after the SWG fiasco. Thankfully we can test the system before it goes Live.

I have to say it is a good update but one thing bothers me. Devs insist
so much that lower level will have more influence in a fight against
high levels.

Good in theory but where are you going to find another 9 level 40s to
take down a 50? It would be more interesting to have 3-4 level 40s able
to take down a 50. So in my opinion it won't really change the way
people play and lower levels will not bother.

Also:

Make team duels possible by having captains duel each others, this
would allow a bunch of lower levels trying to beat a higher level.
Because where you find a level 50 there are many others around waiting
for you to pvp.

Has anyone found out, somehow, whether it be through friends who are
developers, or CSRs, or whatever, if attribute buffs are going to be
removed from clothing, or if they are going to stay put?

Or, is it even unknown to them what they are going to do? SMILEY

Rather than have rumours run wild throughout the community on whats
going to happen.. can we just get some clarification?
Please?

In the releases about the combat upgrade it mentions that stats can no long be increased by using stats.

Are the existing items just going to be replaced in our inventorys or grandfathered like has previously occured?

(Probably future release so won't get answered SMILEY but meh!)

That *is* a future release question. However, I will say this: in the future we will not be "grandfathering" items by having them decay rapidly except in the case of extreme exploit-type emergencies. The whole thing with the old Richland/Westview dungeon loot decaying was an implementation of an old team practice that was not re-examined sufficiently by yours truly. *sigh*
