The Exile Eris, identified by transmissions from the Hovercraft Scanline as a member of a group of mercenaries who blackmail redpills, was eliminated by EPN and Zion operatives in Club Deus. The operatives were directed there by one "Sykco," apparently an associate of Unese, the person identified by the public Scanline broadcasts as having access to Eris' whereabouts.

It appears to be a broadcast from the Hovercraft Scanline. As many of you know, this particular hovercraft is manned by a small group of operatives from different backgrounds who seek to bring secrets of each organization into the open. Typically Scanline operates in the shadows, sending their pirate broadcasts to specially coded receivers in the Matrix. However, this broadcast was sent publicly.

A lawsuit against our registered city business would ordinarily be of little concern, but if Wright Research continues to press their case against Pendhurst-Amaranth, blaming them for a break-in by Mauser, who they say was working for us, it will make it much more difficult to take advantage of the assistance that Ms. Utley has promised us in investigating Mauser's activities inside the simulation. It is very important that we stay on top of this developing situation.

Operatives led by Deffdog rescued the Exile Palorina from a gang of exiled programs who had kidnapped her. The gang was also holding another Exile, "The Evaluator." Palorina has helped our operatives before, so it was a job well done by Deffdog and the other operatives to rescue her.

Operatives were alerted to the presence of the Smith Virus in south Richland. After a running battle in which many operatives and programs were infected, the virus was terminated on a Mannsdale rooftop by operative TheSorrows. The following release of viral code temporarily covered a wide area of the slums with smaller infections; while most of these were quickly handled by operatives, we believe some pockets remain, for instance in north Kedemoth.

A powerful manifestation of the Smith Virus in the International District evaded operatives and caused widespread havoc until it was eliminated by a large number of operatives, including the Machine operative Grod, who struck the final blow. Smaller instances of the virus erupted throughout Kowloon and nearby neighborhoods, threatening everything in the area until they were neutralized by the assembled operatives.

Operatives responded in large numbers to an outbreak of the Smith Virus in Downtown. Although the strain of the massive battle literally brought the simulation to a halt at one point, the operatives finally prevailed, with Ventio taking the shot that finally brought the virus down. Smaller manifestations of the virus throughout a large part of the district followed, but at this time we believe that operatives have the situation well in hand.

Smith Virus offspring influenced by intruder override codes proved to be a formidable combination, but persevering operatives working in groups were eventually able to remove nearly all of these dangerous programs from Hampton Green. At this time the area's threat level rating has returned to normal.

We found large numbers of override programs throughout the north Richland area. Some of these may have been placed by Carlyne, since they did not attack our operatives. Most were hostile, however, and some even aided Machine operatives.

While we believe that most of the override programs appearing at that time have been successfully removed, until we succeed in removing Halborn, we must remain alert for further outbreaks of override programs in the area.

As the search led by Captain Colt did not locate the Oracle, the situation in Mara has begun to deteriorate. All units in the area should remain on full alert. The Council believes, based in part on Seraph's responses to operatives in the white hallways, that the Oracle may still be somewhere in the vicinity of that neighborhood.

The Brethren encountered the operative known as "Father Jonas" at the First United Church in Sobra Shores. Jonas warned of an unusual rash of attacks by the local Demon Legion gang, and led the operatives to the gang's leader, Jezebeth, who they found in Club Daemon.

Jezebeth claimed that the gang was being controlled by an outside force, and operatives escorted her through waves of attacks to the apartment building at the south end of the neighborhood, where they discovered one of the intruder's powerful override programs.

Our warriors engaged in a fierce battle against the override program and the Demon Legion members it had dominated. The operatives eventually carried the day, and the Accelerator program itself was deleted by operative Aquilae.

It could become very dangerous in the city if the intruder's programs begin overriding local elements en masse as they did during this Sobra incident. Please remain vigilant for any signs of widespread override use.

I'm sorry to report that we were unable to bring operative Viellard out of the Matrix. The Machines locked his signal, and he was killed by Machine operatives near the hardline, while our forces were engaged with a large number of Machine security programs there.

Almost all of our surviving veteran operatives in need of signature reconfiguration are now safely out of the Matrix. Reconfig operations are going on around the clock. We hope to have all of our soldiers back in the Matrix very soon.

Machine capture of the RSI signature archive from the old Zion mainframe has allowed them to access many of our previously secure areas within the Matrix. We are working to switch over to new, secure signatures as quickly as possible. Until this process is complete, please be aware that nearly any area is vulnerable to Machine incursion.

Operatives have been working hard to save as much as possible from the Machines, and despite the loss of a number of data caches to the Machines, these efforts have been paying off, and much valuable information has been preserved.

However, the security vulnerability is expected to last for at least several more weeks. No critical data is to be stored in the Matrix if at all possible. And please, if you are able to contact any of the veteran operatives whose signatures may have been compromised, have them jack out and return to Zion for signature reconfiguration as soon as possible. We don't want to lose any more good soldiers.

Captain Colt led a multi-pronged operation intended to both get the attention of the Morpheus simulacrum, and disrupt the Machine team tracking him. After some tough fighting, the operatives did come into contact with the simulacrum, but it resisted even genuine Morpheus data offered him by operatives CarAudioGuy, Machete, and Zionner, and after holding some discussion with our fighters, disappeared once more into the barrens.

Psych Ops is analyzing the program's responses to questions put to it by our fighters; although we were still unable to convince it not to aid the Machines, this encounter may provide some useful insight into its logic processes, so that we will be better prepared in the future.

I was doing some database maintenance and found some of Strayshot's personal files and notes. Particularly his information on Dr. Rajlich. He shouldn't be keeping this information to himself, that's how he got into his latest trouble in the first place. Secrets will only beget more paranoia and violence. And at a time like this, that's the last thing we need. Knowledge was meant to be shared. I'm taking a stand for truth.

got the log files from zion hovercraft fandango from Hawnt. not sure where he got them from. a program called Muse helped the crew break into some sort of machine facility. agents sealed it off, killed the crew. guess the operator, Trans, got away. i guess the consensus around here is that Muse was a former instance of 991. the story recorded in the log files matches up with the mech case files, so i guess its true.

also, seems like the merv reports on "Conundrum" are another possible match to 991. program let himself be captured and brought the Smoothtalkers to a data node which they downloaded to their mainframe along with a virus. virus stole all their data, may have destroyed the whole facility. or else the Conundrum program somehow detonated itself. sounds like it was some sort of interrogation facility for gathering data about programs. from the sound of it, wasnt too recent, doesnt sound too important.
but im more interested in how this relates to the current situation. sounds like the lupes traced the signals from their pal Conundrum back to the data node. something about harmonics.
this exile gang found out about the doc's work. maybe that general broadcast wasnt the best idea. i dont think these are the sort of guys i want to hand the notes over to. my options:
1)try to hit them hard before they hit me. would probably have to call on the crew to back me up. not sure if they'll be willing to back me on a thing like this just yet.
2)wait it out. bad, plenty of opportunities they could take me by surprise. probably would get the crew hurt, maybe killed.
3)go into hiding. stay away from the matrix. maybe hide out in zion, blend in with all the new awakeneds. access to the barges so i can still sneak into the matrix. maybe take the opportunity for some R&R. finish decoding tier 3 and 4. maybe even find a few lonley scared babes who could use a shoulder to rest their head on.
4)ask the redpills for help. crew probably wouldnt like this. might risk breaking the truce or something. cant pull them into this.

Seraph was spotted in Richland, near Mara Central. He incapacitated a bluepill before leaping away. Several operatives gave chase, and were able to follow him to Westview, where he was seen several more times before all trace was lost.

Seraph said nothing to his pursuers, and hardly seemed to acknowledge their presence.

We do not yet have any information on why he is attacking individuals across the city, or how he selects his targets. All operatives are directed to remain alert for any further sightings; they should be reported to your commanding officer immediately.

Warriors of the Eternal Alliance faction, responding to an alert of unusual levels of Guillotine gang activity around Pendhurst-Amaranth's plant in Southard, were accosted by the gang's masked leader. She told them that the gang provides security services for Pendhurst-Amaranth's facility in an unofficial capacity, but that this work had been disturbed of late by an influx of new P-A security members. It is unclear what, if anything, this may signify. Operatives are cautioned to keep in mind that the statements of the city's Exile street gangs are often misleading.

Our operatives responded to an Unlimit attack on the Pendhurst-Amaranth plants in Southard several days ago. Very large numbers of Unlimit soldiers held operatives off around the perimeter, while their leader, named Tungsten, broke into the Pendhurst-Amaranth offices at the site, stealing blueprints of their other facilities. She was so powerful that operatives were not able to prevent her escape, and the huge mass of soldiers she left guarding her retreat posed a significant threat to civilians in the area. Fortunately, our operatives, working together with those from other organizations, were able to defeat the menace posed by this small army, and restored the area to its usual level of safety.

We received this message as an unidentified transmission over our internal channels. The individual named has not yet been identified, and it is not clear how they gained access to our secure frequencies. Although the message appears to be benign, the person or persons behind the broadcast are a potential security risk, and any information pertaining to their identity should be communicated to your superior officer immediately.

I just realized that the world's gone to hell. So it doesn't really matter who I tell about Doc Raj, may he rest in peace or Nirvana or whatever. And it doesn't matter if the old man cares about what I done, or if he tracks me down, or even if I die. The truth will be told. This isn't my world, not anymore.

I've spent my whole life carrying these guns for Zion. I've held the line against the damned sentinels, I've had my crews--my only family I've ever had--picked off by Agents, I fought through lupine death squads collecting data to send to the Doc. But things have changed. Now it's all politics. I'm a gunrunner, not a diplomat. Zion's thrown in with the damned Mechs and now even the Merv. Far too much blood on their hands for my taste. I preferred when black was black and white was white and there was no dancing around the truth. Back in the days I worked with Doc.

Coffin Nail was a tough, old bastard, but I managed to keep him from finding the Doc's notes all the same. He always had something against Doc, he probably would have destroyed all his research after the lupines killed him if a few of us hadn't managed to salvage it. Salvaged it and accidentally kept it from being lost when Zion's "last battle" came rolling around. Doesn't hold much meaning to me, I'm a gunner, not a computer junkie, but I figure out of all these new ops, somebody can maybe gain something from it. Although seems to me it's mostly nonsense about his life as a bluepill, not notes about his work studying programs. Not the sort of thing you can turn a profit on. Anyways, I leave all that decoding, decryption business to you.

Oh, and don't worry about Nails holding a grudge, his ship disappeared off into the wastelands long before the truce and maybe Zion's finally rid of his curse and all the death he caused.

Liaison officer Merrit has been assisting operatives in tracking down a Cypherite spy within our organization, with the further aid of a mysterious Exile informant. The informant, having finally managed to obtain some usable data on the spy, entrusted the data--but not a knowledge of its contents--to a high-speed courier, and then tipped our operatives off to the courier's route. The operatives successfully intercepted the courier and retrieved the data.

As it happened, this particular very expensive courier, whom we have encountered before, also carried a packet from Anome, which he had been unable to deliver, or to return to the sender. Knowing that Anome worked--or used to work--for Zion, the messenger was more than happy to collect his delivery fee from our operatives, and hand Anome's packet to officer Merrit.

However, the Cypherite leader, Veil, apparently tipped off to the interception by her spy, attempted to retrieve the courier's data from Merrit as she made her way to the hardline nearby. Fortunately, Merrit escaped from the alleyway ambush, and was able to upload the data safely. The alleyway battle continued regardless, with Veil pulling another of her infamous disappearing acts as a large wave of Cypherite reinforcements appeared.

Once uploaded and examined, the disk in the packet was found to contain highly encrypted data:

The General's case is safely in our possession. At a meeting arranged by liaison officers Soluma and Alsos, Anome met with operatives, briefing them on the general whereabouts of the General's messenger, who has been safeguarding the case of cheat codes. After a prolonged high-speed chase throughout Richland, our fighters, with warriors Pirus and Tbone at the forefront, caught up with the messenger and brought him to Alsos, who presented the case to Niobe. Our operatives then escorted Niobe to a nearby hardline, where she was able to jack out safely with the case.
