Now correct me if I am wrong, but at one stage when you click the free fire attack button you would shoot once and leave it at that. Recently it has been changed so you click it once and your character will continue to free fire until otherwise instructed, even if you use knives/hacks/heals/whatever after the shot you will keep shooting when the timer has finished until you manually stop this.
Personally I feel this is a very bad idea, example.
I'm PvPing as a knife thrower, I roll out with my opponent, I take a pot shot with my Stinger to try daze them, if I do I use Subduing throw for a stun, if I don't I go for crippling throw. No daze, I use crippling throw and root them and start to run back for a disguise, suddenly I stop and shoot them again, even though I don't want to. The root breaks and they run up and IL me. I don't see why it was such an issue for players to just click free fire when they wanted to shoot someone, it made so much more sense to me.
Now if it were possible to cancel the free fire repeat I wouldn't mind so much, but as far as I know the only way to do this is press escape, which also loses your target on them. In hectic PvP with people all around I don't want to have to re-target them, if there's a lot of people around this can take a few seconds and I lose the initiative.
Secondly, I noticed the bug that spams you with "You must wait for your free-fire timer" has also returned. Can you fix this please?

You can either press the Free fire attack button again to stop the attack or you can press "="

Exactly. That's what I do, although I'm usually content to let it keep firing after I've put through one of my special attacks. Having said that, mind, a special attack will often break my free-fire, and I need to stop then start it again. Not too much bother.
Are sure it was only recently that free-fire was changed to auto repeat itself? I can't think of a time when it only shot once.

I remember a few threads some time ago when people asked for Free Fire to be changed to constantly fire.

This is correct - so in effect; in order to shoot once you should double-click the free fire button. Learn to play.

Depending on when you use an ability (such as a knife), your free-fire will spaz out. It'll give you some BS error spammed in your system chat. Just click your free fire once, to un-light it. Wait for it to go through, then press it again. Ta-da.
I've gotten to the point where I switch it off when I use an ability, I don't bother with auto-free fire.

Sure it's been on constant fire since I started playing at least a year and a half ago. A few issues like the one already mentioned, but yeah press = to turn it off. Personally I have the - and =buttons mapped to the extra buttons on my mouse as well as target closest enemy, for ease of use.

I personally like it because when people roll out of IL, you automatically start doing a free-fire so if they have like 50 health and you hit them as they CONTROL SPAAAAAAACEEEE then they die mid-air, resulting in a hilarious death.

You will do the Auto free fire even if you didn't shoot them before you IL'd.

It didn't used to do that. But whatever, just press free-fire again and you stop the auto-fire.

Yeah, am personanly fine with Auto-Free-fire, even tho it works against me sometimes. Main thing to me is maximizing attacks... If im using dual subs, I REALLY dont want to have to hit Fire every 2.5 bloody secs to maintain an attack stream. With my lag theres no way i could get the attacks off at maximum rate of fire. However, speaking of bugs, for me I often have free-fire attacks interupt my other abs. I.e. I start free firing, and go to do a special attack, and get a message that "movement" has interupted my ability. This is really frustrating for me, because sometimes it IS movement (rubber-banding) and sometimes its the guns, and it usually takes me a round to figure out which, and another round to get the Free-Fire timer stopped, and by then my window for the attack may be gone. However, I may be the only poor slob in this game playing in a location without landlines, and hence using satelite Internet (blech). As such, it may be I am the only person experiencing this bug.

If anything it needs fixing so that it doesn't break every other time my interlock attempt fails. The jump in/bounce back animation completely borks the auto timer.

I didn't even think about it until a few brought it up in this thread. It's really not that annoying, just after every attempt to break someone's shield/using certain abilities I switch it off and turn it back on. It's no inconvenience to me personally, but I could see how those who are perhaps a little lazier or are more inclined to using the mouse would find it so.
