Ideal numbers for SMGs, Duelist, Spy?

What are good points/bonuses for resistances (all 4), damage, accuracy, and defense of SMG Specialists?

of Duelists?

of Spys? (MKT, Master Assassin, MS)

As high as you can get them, honestly. It's more about who you're fighting in which you basically need... As high of accuracy you can get in your load (like ballistic accuracy for SMG/Duelist) of course, but see like Duelist which is a more "defensive" load, you'd look more to the defense bonuses more then you'd go for Accuracy, especially since Defense has become a big issue in now that it actually works. Honestly, SMG specialists I don't see a lot of, but they are a low accuracy damage class, which means a lot of people only use SMG specialists for it's title (i.e. damage) and then load accuracy with guns. Now if you were fighting another person using guns, I'd say go Duelist and experiment with some other trees a little and you should probably dominate any other guns user in a fight with grabpower.

Spies are accuracy kittens. MKT has the highest base accuracy in the game, so you will see they outroll a lot of other classes a lot more, and even though it's highly disputed that because they roll so high, they in turn get low damage, it's still a matter of the fact that no other load can't get off a move because of them. So, yes, accuracy. Master Assassin is the more damage variant of thrown, but still high accuracy, and MS is more of a evasion LO, not for combat.

What Ballak said but you also have to consider the enemy you're fighting, pay attention to what's actually killing you besides the person you interlock, who is doing the most damage/disabling you, etc.

I say if you're goin' SMG Specialist you should focus on Damage, since it's a pretty sweet damage dealer there. It's a great compliment for Sniper, and the speed-based Full Auto Redux is easy to pull off (a bit hard to land though).

 

Some of the SMG abilities are overlooked a lot, but I find I can easily take on any decent MA with the high-tier rooting move, since it only allows the MA a split second of movement between uses (if they all land of course).

It's also important to understand states. (dazed, off-balance etc.)  If you know what states will help the enemy you are fighting against you can adapt when they land on you.  Activating a resistance buff at the right time can be very important.
