Hello fellow coders, this idea came to me the other day, and although i expect never to see it, i figured i'd put it out there if for nothing else to talk about how much nicer things would be if we had it, sigh longingly and then jack out and go play another MMO or do something constructive - in any case here we go:

If you've gotten to that point like i have where you decomp anything and everything you find for the sake of having it in your library, you might have noticed how difficult it's become to locate individual pieces of clothings, both from a buff standpoint and or a fashion stand point. How much easier would it be if there were filtering means built into the code analyser tool that allowed you to search through your library with key words or points, running a search would then list off all the items that met your desired key word and display only those pieces of clothing. It could be as advanced as searching for:

"armored" "level 26+" "male"

to find male armored clothing level 26 and up.

or as simple as:

"black"

In order to find everything and anything of that color regardless of level.

The applications of these filters work both from the RP side of charachter customization and clothing layout, the pvp realm of trying to find the best buffs for stuff. If implemented it would be undoubtedly shotty, but if it had the ability to run a search just for certain segements of item strings or pieces of items strings to match with the search it would be interesting.

Just a thought.

Why not right, not like too many other ideas here get implemented, so have at it.

Practical or essential? Nope.

Necessary? Nothing in a video game is necessary.

Interesting? I think so.

Been brought up many, many times before. I don't think they can impliment that anytime soon without some editing of the code.

Yep, I've also been for the super easy fix of modifying /codestructs to output that information

Great idea but, as eval said, this is one thing that has been asked for many times before to no avail.  Would be extremely nice to see it done though SMILEY
