Overall, I enjoyed the event... I liked the way there was more than one assasin to hunt. That helped with the areas not being so overcrowded. However, as someone who plays a dedicated Patcher during events (Hey, someone has to keep the team alive) I do have to question the fairness of only rewarding the player who strikes the last blow. If that is the case, a patcher would never have the oppurtunity to recieve a reward for their efforts. (I was kept very busy rezzing little wadded up players that had been crushed by the assasin *grin* ) Giving a reward to the team that does the most damage seems like it would be more equitable.

The good:
A whole lotta fum. Good clues. Good story and good chase. I had a great time this weekend and I know it's cause of all the hard work they made Walrus do...so thanks Walrus! You the Ma....uh whale horse!
The bad:
Lag
It's been this way in every event. Simple answer: Better servers and we know SOE's got em in a closet somewhere.
To SOE: It's an obvious issue. Every event has been like this and will be like this until you step up to the plate and throw some muscle into the hardware to help prevent server crashes.
Additonal suggestion:
Have three copies of Niobe, Flood and Agent Gray throughout megacity. One of each in a different construct. Sync them so they say the same thing at the same time. Both Recursion and Vector crashed after the Niobe speech (don't know about Syntax) so spread peeps out. If you have a Niobe in Downtown, International and Richland, for example, I will go Downtwon as a level 50 and others will be spread out too.
It was good that you did this with the Assassin, and there were still crashes (I bit it three times chasing the assassin and I am running P4 3.0 with 2mb LCache, 2 gigs Ram and NVidia 7800GTX 256mb GDDR, way above recommended specs), but the server didn't go down until you invited all of Zion to one location. So it makes sense to use the 'copies' for meetings too.

Well, for me this was near the bottom of the pile of live events for a number of reasons.
The event dates were not advertised in advance, so making plans to get out of work wasn't possible. I was online before I went into work and there was nothing particularly exciting going on (I got to kill some corrupted and got the flit gun which I had/have no use for). I stopped home on break Sunday afternoon and log on (around 5:15 cst) only to find out the event is over, and I can get some cake (small consollation).
Over the course of the weekend I was on for a total of maybe 8-10 hours and saw no LET members and didn't see the assassin once (and I was stalking his haunts). The people who read the leak also had inside knowledge of where he was going to be, and the rest of us didn't, though through the forums I had a pretty good idea. Anyhow, the frag puzzle which would have been the main thing I could have participated in (due to being at work during the entire time of any LET interation) was pretty much a moot issue due to the leak (except if I could have decyphered where the HL to the barge was).
So yeah, all in all, I give this event an F (at best a D-, because at least there was an event that moved the stagnant story forward some more). A lot due to my disappointment in feeling left out (due to the dates and schedule being kept under lock and key). Also the rewards for those 12 people seems rediculous (the buffs anyway). And it seems this fly in amber only has the effect of taking 400 of my health, unless I'm missing something?
