The Kalt Tower Lobby was asploded by a bomb in the elevator, even if it wasn't a grenade.  And then Trinity sorta used a motorcycle like a grenade.  Anyway, there were explosions and flashy things.

Sounds like a lot more fun then current MxO PvP.

Really though, with a decent reuse timer, this is a non-issue.

grenades if implimented should be a consumable based weapon, prefferably using several tool and/or consumable subroutines to craft, the system for them could be the same as a flashbang/smokebomb, you get the same target ring on the ground, semi lengthly cast timer, and then have it to around 300-500 points viral damage with a 5-7m AOE.

just my thought.

Enter the matrix, which is part of the official matrix cannon, used grenades, so did The path of Neo which was over saw by the brothers as well.

And I think a consumable would work. And then maybe you could buy an tool like a mortar gun or something to fir the grenades long range.

Although I'm quite fond of the grenadier tree. That would be awesome.

I still don't want MxO turn into BF2 for a few months after their release you would get 10 people throwing grenades into Mara C to clean out the mass of reds, thats all and if we had a grenadier tree for long range it'd be even worst, plus they'll need to create new textures, animations, new tree's are pretty much not ever gonna happen if they won't even give back Zen Master.

um, ever heard of howitzer?

10 people using howie can go to mara c and clean out the mass of reds to. So I fail to see the logic of your post based upon the fact we already have a powerful AOE based class in the game.

More than that, for hand throwing grenades, thoes animations are already in game... flash bang/smoke grenade. Game already has the targeting system in place for grenades as well. It would probably be a pretty easy addition.

and as for the artwork and what not needed, your wrong about that, it already exists.

In my opinion....

Grenades thrown at short range should have higher damage. The further away you are the less accurate the grenades become. Something in the type of, a grenade on its own thrown from mara church towards the hardline should go on the road or hit the vendor or whatnot.

They should be part of the Operative tree, spanning from Gunman the same as Sniper.

The tree could go like this

You need grenadier loaded as your standard top of a tree ability giving resistances buffs etc.

Throw grenade Focuses on Area damage and not on accuracy, It has a Medium-Large Re use timer. Its AOE Should effect all PvP players in that area, friend and foe (Should discourage some random launching into a PvP battle if your friendlies are in there on foot).

Fire in the Hole causes larger still AoE damage, but is even less accurate than throw grenade. It has an even larger Re-Use timer. They dont have to be aimed at specific players, more areas.

Grenades are done on Useable items that must be either looted or coded.

Launch Grenade requires you to have a Grenade Launcher as well as grenades in your inventory. Launch grenade focuses on accuracy at the expense of AOE and some Damage. This must be aimed at a specific Player and damages both parties in interlock but not other people close to and shooting.

Unholy accuracy Is a highly accurate form of Launch Grenade. It has a slight damage increase and no AOE of the general area still. The damage increase should be small, not as much as Throw grenade to Fire in the Hole. Its main ability is being able to launch the grenade at a greater distance.

All grenade activites should have large re use timers, to stop spamming. Both sides should work on a re use timer. For instance if you used throw grenade with a re use timer of 40 seconds you couldnt use Launch grenade or Fire in the hole or Unholy accuracy for that 40 seconds.

When using the grenade launcher You are rooted and pacified for a set amount of time after using it, to allow for it to cool down enough to be placed back in your inventory. The longer the range you are launching the longer the effect lasts. Stopping someone hyperjumping down, launching a grenade then buggering off again.

When using a regular grenade you are pacified for a much shorter period of time and are not rooted.

Grenade defense should be counted within thrown Items.

The next bit is a bit im not too sure of. If you have a better idea for it just say.

Hackers should be able to locate rooted grenade launchers or otherwise with a "Sonar Ping" like ability. You would use the ability, a system message would say "Hostile Grenadier located" and you would get a waypoint, this waypoint would last a set amount of time until the ability deactivates and there would be a reuse timer on a second attempt at location.

Hopefully some of the things outlined here should address balancing issues and spamming issues. If you want to add/change/flame any of this feel free.

I say start small, you see those useless abilities on soldier? Yeah, sharpshooter and multi-fighting, replace em with some basic grenade abilities. Sounds pretty soldiery to me.

Make the dmg output levelable as well. Everything is in game:
 - Smoke bomb animation
 - Smoke bomb cross air launch mode
 - Grenade icons

Win.

Thats brilliant and well thought out OS-ijakings.... BUT.... if gunners and 'Granadiers' need to have guns and granades respectfully, MKTs and Master Assassins need to get knives coded and looted aswell.

Would the granades be consumable?  I dont they should, they should be like guns (as should the knives)
