The other day i was looking for some matrix online movies on youtube.
And I found something very interesting-

I know that some of the moves that was in beta was taken out before launch for various reasons.
But where did they go? And why were they taken out?
Im guessing it had something to do with them being unbalanced maybe, but I dont know.

Here is a link to one of the beta vids I found:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYq92Ek_Kyo : Look for the move performed in the 36th sec..looks absolutly awesome.
Anyone recognize that move? Im guessing some of you beta guys would?

This one is not a beta move, but I dont reacall to ever carry out that move myself?
And its deffo not a shadow wallkick
So what it is?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAq9...feature=related

Whatever they are..I want them backSMILEY!

The scorpion kick looks ace. I've heard people talking about it before I've just not seen it in action. I have no idea why it was taken out it doesn't look to be too long an animation and even if it is, it includes the backflip afterward, couldn't the backflip be removed if it's making the whole thing too long? We know Rare can tweak certain parts of the animations, or would that be slightly too in depth?

As for the wall run, I've heard that there are some very rare occurrances of it happening of it's own accord. Never happened to me outside the shadow pills. Amazing that he was frapsing at the same time tbh.

Im sure they could both be brought back if devs wanted it. I just hope there is a very good reson for them to be taken out in the first place.

As for the wall kick, they way I heard it was that its jused to be a standard finish move but was taken out for some reason. Then it was given back as the shadow pill we know today.
But I just dont think that the move performed in the vid beares any resemblance to how the wallkick normally performs?
So im guessing they are to completly different moves.

Id just like to know why these great moves are was taken out and why they cant be put back in?
Would be nice to hear it from a devs mouth...*coughs..feel free to step in anytime RareSMILEY

The move in the video isn't the (Shadow) Wallkick, it's the Shadow Phoenix. I would assume that any future added moves (unless they have a new one in each tree) would be in 'pill' form too.

I guess it's easier implementing them in that form, plus being activatable by anyone regardless of loadout will prevent people who use other trees from complaining about new content being brought in for a particular tree only.

I wouldn't mind the hack grant pill being brought back if more MA moves or even ballistic moves were added in pill form. Even though it's not in 'pill' form the shurikens are activatable by anyone for a bit of thrown damage. Same method different icon.

Back in CR 1, if you were using a hand to hand style against someone using guns in interlock you could quite literally disarm them for 20-30 seconds if you beat them with a normal attack roll, all the disarm animation were removed with CR 2 along with wallkicks and an awesome power finish move for self defense style where you jump on them and kick them in the face at the same time. That scorpion kick is the disarm animation for self defense style. There were a few different disarm animations, 1 for each style and (I think) 2 for Aikido. Some of the animations were way too fast, especially Kung Fu where it was over and into the next round before the fists had finished colliding on your interlock UI display. But I don't see a reason why Rarebit can't toy with the more reasonable animations to add some more diversity.

Because he doesn't feel like it ok?!!? - God he's got a busy bloody schedule without bending over backwards to the whin of every player, you people just take and take and take!

===

On a side note the wall maneuvers were really sick but so completely random by the time you actually saw them it happened so fast you couldn't even his the screenshot button, i know i've done a few, but i can honestly only remember 1 wall kick i did in bathory and the 10 minutes i spent after like what tf just happened? And the 30 minutes i spent failing at trying to re-create it.

Relax dude! Dont think anyone is saying we dont get enough already! But there is no harm in making suggestions is there!
And dont talk like you have any idea why he or the other devs do what they do and not what we sometimes ask..who are you huh? Their personal assistant?

Anyways

I have some idea of why it was taken out now..cheers PylatSMILEY!

I wouldn't mind if they put them back in and just took away the disarm penalty, because that made pistols useless in IL because the first normal attack anyoone else did disarmed them.

What was that arm bar in the first one, another disarm move or a finisher?... o wait looks like arieal takedown.

Yes but whoever said the line Darminian quoted wasn't asking a question about online development or posting his own idea for the game, it was just a blunt statement which suggests that Rarebit sits on his arse all day. Intentionally or unintentionally it doesn't matter. I think we can all agree that the devs have given as much as they've got and although it would be nice to have some things we want it's sometimes just not feasible.

Pylat didn't once say that any of the Dev's sit on their arses. He put an idea forward that if they decide to look at additional moves, like the Shadow moves then there shouldn't be a reason why they can't have a look at some of the more popular old moves and see if they can adjust them to fit into the requiredments for CR2.

He was providing feedback on what some players would like to see, there was no demanding them to be included at all. We are perfectly aware of the work the dev's are doing, but just because they are churning out new content, does that mean we should stop discussing what we'd like to see and the possibility of their inclusion and what would need to be done? Perhaps Darminian should try to gain the context of the conversation before flaming someone.
