Syntax Next Renaissance - Syntax How long has it been? Re:How long has it been? king 0 05/31/2009 12:03

His feet had been pounding the pavement for what felt like hours now, rain lashing down on his head relentlessly.  He could save himself the trip and simply hop from hardline to hardline, but today, he wanted to walk.

It had been so long since he'd seen these streets, really seen them, really looked at them, at their intricacy, their fantastic detail; this place truly is a work of art.  He had always wondered what could possibly have compelled the machines to put such delicate attention and overwhelming effort into creating this world; he had always thought that there was, surely, a more efficient method for them to generate the power they needed to survive, without giving this world to their human creators - and now, after he had taken the time to digest all that Starschwar had told him of the past years, it all made sense.

How could anyone look down up those whose only wish it was to return to this blissful slumber? How could they begrudge them that choice?  Surely wasn't this whole d*mn thing meant to be about choice?

He had been told, time and time again, of the rumours which followed the one they called Neo - of the fatal flaw of this illusion, the necessity for its inhabitants to accept this reality without question, without even realising it.  He understood the need for those who reject the illusion to free themselves of it; but he had long since known that he wasn't one of those people - that his mind was never meant to discover the truth of this world; that he was destined to be blissfully unaware of what lay beneath the ground at his feet.

Little wonder he had fought so hard to go back to that life, the life he was always meant to have - but now that dream was revealed as just that - a dream.  Reinsertion is a lie.

What now?  Where does he go from here?  As he walked he lamented his loss of purpose - how did he get here? Where had he been?

Light.

White light, searing, so brightly he felt as though his eyes would burn right in their sockets.

Was he dead?  (Was he ever truly alive?)

Within seconds his eyes acclimatised to the world around him; he had felt this sensation only once before - when he was torn from his slumber out into the "real" world for the very first time.  He hadn't thought about that day in a long time.  How long ago was that now?

He recognised the sounds, the oh so familiar sound of pedestrian life; of unknowing shells scurrying around, convinced that what they're doing holds some meaning, some purpose.  If they only knew.

What was his purpose?  Where was his meaning?  His head seared with pain, and as he clasped it in his trembling hands he could feel that it was saturated with a cold sweat... was this real?  Was he really here?

He stumbled backwards, sinking into a slump on a cold, wet bench, clambering to find his train of thought, to remember how he got here, how he ended up back in this place; but the memories escaped him, all he could see was a dark, dank room; four miserable grey walls, the deafening silence screaming in his ears.  Where was this place?

His breathing grew more panicked with each second that passed, he fought to remember even the simplest detail, the simplest memory of this world, until out of the corner of his eye he saw that oh-so familiar green glow of the phone booth hardline.  As quick as a flash he rose to his feet, grabbed it, and was gone.

Zia... he had spent so much time here when he first entered this world, though he had long since forgotten why.  Funny, he thought to himself - though it clearly wasn't - he could remember so much of his time as a freshly awoken redpill, right though to his fateful exit from the system; the violence, the deception, the tragedy - yet he remembered very little afterwards... only that room, that tiny, grey room.

His jacket pockets bulged with a collection of tools and devices, most of which he had no recollection of how to use - however one in particular rang a bell.  Fiddling with the knobs and levers, he began scanning for RSI frequencies, in the desperate hope that he could find someone, just one person, who could give him answers.

Minutes passed... then hours... he sighed a heavy sigh, all but giving up hope on locating anyone whose signal he recognised - every face he passed in the street, or encountered at the various access hardlines throughout the sprawling city seemed unfamiliar.. until.. who was this?  With his thumb he wiped away the grime and dust from the scanner screen, squinting his still reddened eyes, wearily attempting to interpret the RSI codes...

He remembered this name... he could not place why or how, but he remembered it nonetheless - was he friend or foe?  Would he remember him at all?  Only one way to find out...

>-- Is this the RSI known as "Starschwar"?

.....................................................

He opened his eyes, had he been asleep?  He didn't remember.... he hadn't jacked out or... had he ever experienced sleep while in this world?  Dazed, he attempted to clear the fog which engulfed his mind; still reeling from meeting with Cpt. Starschwar only a few hours ago... was it hours?  Days? Longer?

Those halls, brilliant white - so pristine, so clear - he had vague memories of enduring a rather painful evacuation from that very same place several years ago, but this time is was different - there was no sense of danger, no noise or panic - just him, and Star.

Was everything he said true?  Had this world really gone to hell in a handbasket?  The Oracle - dead?  Surely... surely not... He had listened in stunned silence as Starschwar relayed the tale of all that had happened in this world since his last memory of it; of Oligarchs and Biological something Interfaces; the rise and fall of figures whose names were previously - to him - of little consequence; and... most staggering of all, the fall of the Masked and the revelation that reinsertion was, and had forever been, a lie.

Surely that wasn't true... it couldn't be.... while the madness that had shrouded him throughout his pursuit of reinsertion had long since faded, he still believed in the simple and somewhat innocent ideal of returning to a peaceful dream - yet here he was being told that the dream was merely a myth.  Most surprising of all, he thought to himself, was that he wasn't really surprised.  In fact, he could barely untangle how exactly he felt about all of this, how he felt about anything - none of this seemed real... and not in the sense that this Matrix itself isn't real, but that... his head hurt...

Why did he recoil when Star had shown him those prison cells?  Is that where he had been?  Were those the same four grey walls he saw every time he closed his eyes?  Surely they weren't, but something about that place struck a nerve, and he couldn't figure out why.

One thing he was sure of, however, was that he could feel the change in the air... something was different in this place... something was... wrong... he just didn't know what, or where his place was in all of this.

Sitting up in his makeshift bed... so he had been sleeping?... he realised the room was in complete darkness; stumbling to his feet he tried to feel his way to a wall, to a lightswitch or even a door, his legs threatening to buckle beneath him.  Finally he felt a cold steel handle in his palm, and he almost tripped on his own feet as he left the room.

On a small table outside the door, several of his personal effects were laid out purposefully - almost too well organised.  He didn't remember doing this, though there was a lot of didn't remember these days.  He clumsily grabbed onto his data recorder, disturbing the perfect arrangement of devices on the table-top, and he slouched down into a seated position against the wall, pressing 'Record' as he did so.

Community General Discussion Vampyre RP, ookami, <edited>, blooddrinkers, etc.. Re:Vampyre RP, ookami batsh*t, blooddrinkers, etc.. king 0 08/14/2006 15:02
Lady_Return has said it best.  It all comes down to good RP and bad RP, and what your own personal preference is in terms of your own character and the characters of those you interact with.

I can understand the frustration of "fad" RP, as in absolutely everybody suddenly deciding they are Vampires - the same happened with Cypherites (at least on Syntax) - however if thats the case, a good RPer will approach it from two angles.  If these Vampires are acted out well and have feasible backstories, then you can make an in-character decision with how to handle it - ie if theres a major flood of biters in the Matrix, then address the situation by hunting them, commissioning hunters or some other sensible in-character action.

If the Vampires are played by "flavor-of-the-week" RPers who not only do nothing to enhance your gaming experience but also detract from it, then make the OOC decision to ignore these individuals.

It really is simple.  People can play this game however they choose to, and so can you.  Nobody can force people to fit in with specific character-types in their RP, just the same as nobody is forcing you to be a part of RP which doesn't meet your tastes, standards and personal preferences.

Also, just to note, the W/Bros stated repeatedly that what took place in the Matrix movies was just a drop in the ocean of what is the Matrix world.  We've already seen this fact in motion with additions such as the Animatrix, and of course MxO itself - so bear in mind that this is a very flexible canvas we're painting on - and if it can be imagined, it can be feasible.

Knowledge, secrets and rumours - thats all this existance stands upon, something he couldn't help but feel was magnified on every occasion bad news flowed through the channels.

He had heard, as had no doubt countless others, of her death.

Through no more than a casual flicker in the wind she had set him on his path, whether she realised it or not, all that time ago.  While you cannot learn to be proud of the route you have taken, its foolish to kid yourself into thinking you would have had it any different.  As he sat alone in the encrusted shell of his bunker he couldn't help feeling that this sentiment cut both ways.

Staring vacantly against a bare wall he drank in the last few drops of god knows what from a dirty mug, tilting it upwards as he moved it slowly from his mouth.

"To Fygment, may she find the peace she sought for all of us"

((OOC:  To Fygments player - Thank you, thank you and thank you.  Without observing how magnificantly you crafted your "art" as a roleplayer, I would never have stepped foot into such a broadly fantastic world.  While my character and your own only crossed paths on rare occasion, that was more than enough to draw me in.  Good luck in whatever you choose to do with your life.))

Syntax Next Renaissance - Syntax The Beginning of the End Re: The Beginning of the End king 0 05/16/2006 01:50
The dank rain streamed down his forehead as he rubbed his weary eyes with a deflated sigh. Directly behind him amidst the shadows, a nameless figure spoke seemingly to himself, recounting the events of late.

As he absorbed the news he stared forward at the twinkling river before him, the brisk wind breaking through his long padded jacket, sending chills down his spine.

The voice behind him had long since faded as his memories turned to what once was, almost a lifetime ago.

As he raised his right hand the distant moonlight accentuated the deep scars across his knuckles, a gift from the real world that he chose to bear in this one to remind him of how far he had come, and how hard he had fought.

With a quick flick of the wrist he signalled the messenger away to leave him with his thoughts.

He slumped forwards only slightly as he drew a long, weary breath, before speaking to himself in a voice that had not met conversation for endless months now.

"Oh Aiya, Aiya, Aiya... Sweet, Dear Aiya... look at how lost you have become... look at what this world has turned you into..."

He flicked his barely lit cigarette that had burned down to its filter down to his side as he turned to walk away, back to his solitude, a final phrase escaping his lips...

"My faith in you is gone, my dear"

Community General Discussion Radio stations should really stay quiet about security guard locations. Re: Radio stations should really stay quiet about security guard locations. king 0 04/02/2006 13:29
Even though I can understand the concerns, the comment regarding the fact that the servers should be stable enough to hold large amounts of people is pretty much my opinion of things too.

I mean... when planning the event, was it the intentions of the devs to only have a small proportion of people show up, or did they want to attempt to enrich the gaming experience of as many of its subscribers as possible? I would -hope- its the latter.

Don't get me wrong, lag during an event is a **bleep**, but I don't think its fair to point blame at the radio stations.

On this note, i'd like to give huge HUGE props to the guys at Exile Radio, Radio Megacity and my team at Split Infinity Radio - between us we have shared roughly a total of 400+ listeners over this weekend - thats a lot of people being kept informed and entertained, and I salute anyone working to make this happen - this is a positive sign for this community and this game and i'm proud to be a part of it...

...and no i'm not drunk.... well... not much :/
Syntax Next Renaissance - Syntax Legend Re: Legend king 0 03/23/2006 04:09
  Amusing, isn't it?

How fickle and churlish the imputent minds which occupy this reality truely are...

These followers of the Antichrist, with their misplaced faith in their fallen saviour's quest for what he called freedom. Freedom into to bondage of a cold, unforgiving and conflicted society. A society in turmoil as they claw and scratch their way into nothingness - clambouring for a grasp on power, the lies flowing effortlessly off their wicked tongues, soothing their consciences against the travesties they have commited.

The Awakened.

Ironic, perhaps, that they are more blinded to the truth than any among us. Our Eden, our sanctuary, our hope - that was how it was intended, that is how it shall be. Once more into the peaceful sleep.

E Pluribus Neo. Mindless sheep to a child. Nothing more than a boy, swept away from his brush with a man whom he blindly idolised, a man who spared him no second thought, no second glance - yet he so foolishly has convinced himself and the weak minded imbeciles who surround him that he carries the faux-saviours mission. Such children should not interject themselves into the affairs of men.

And what of the turncoats? Watch how they scurry back in the wake of recent events. Watch as they paint themselves blue with their words, the blood of our comrades still fresh on their hands - and yet they speak of the Cause.

The Masked Agenda, reborn. 'Tis the season to rise from the grave it seems... yet what motives lie behind this predictable turn of events? Old scores? Old loves? Or perhaps blue is in fashion this season. Such fickle alliances by fickle men are never meant to last. The Agenda was put to rest with reason, and for that very reason it will no doubt dwindle again.

As for its figurehead? The public face of this reignited path? So lost without purpose, so blind to the fact that while sitting at the head of the Agenda's table, in days gone by he was never its driving force. Some strings are easier to pull than others.

The Blue Order. One true path, one true cause. I stand alongside them proud to have found those with the pure and noble intentions of true Cypherites, those who deserve to wear their masks with pride.

Where do we go from here?

Only time will tell.

Darkness fell across the crisp night sky like freshly spilled ink, drowning out the fleeting sun. The streetlamps hummed with energy almost on cue, bathing the cobbled road in ochre light.

Footsteps. Faint at first yet growing dangerously more prominent, pounding the pavement with unwavering rhythm. Rain began to fall as if the heavens themselves were crying at the sight of him.

From the shadows he made his way into the open street, the raindrops bouncing up off the concrete below and crashing back down onto the tops of his heavy leather boots, unblemished, pristine.

She had called to him. As her world fell apart once more, as her heart lay shattered in light of endless torment, he felt her soul cry out, to the one man who had always known her better than she knew herself.

So many wrongs to put right, his mind had wandered so far from the path, over the brink… yet his faith remained untarnished…

Machiavellian in his virtues he had escaped this insanity once before, and now the very mind which struggled free from the bondage of madness had led him back to the world he vowed never to enter again… this world…

The players have changed, yet the game remains the same as ever. The same ego’s… the same treachery… the same bureaucracy… it stung his senses with every breath he took.

Those week of mind and will had changed allegiances with as much ease as the sun sets, new contenders grasped for a seat of power that existed nowhere but in their own minds. Such fools… leave them be.

Long gone were the days in which such neanderthalism clouded his judgement. Long gone were the days in which the drive to prove his worth was an albatross on his soul. Long gone were the days of gesticulating, of mindless violence and needless conflict, of pride, of anger, of hatred, vanity and a lust for power…

Now… there was her. Only her.

And the cause.

There will always be the cause.

Community General Discussion Recursion (The server) : A continuous source of problems? Re: Recursion (The server) : A continuous source of problems? king 0 01/19/2006 17:37
Personally I don't think server population comes into it, and as there aren't exactly any server stats anywhere, the claim of Recursion to be the biggest server is nothing more than assumption. I've always found it quite empty - and have frequently seen it with a low server-load, however I play on Syntax mainly so my experience of Recursion is limited... which is probably the same for those who claim Syntax and Vector are empty... they're just more vocal that those 2 servers SMILEY

Even if Recursion is the biggest of the 3, I would say its only marginal by comparison - and definately not enough to cripple the server

More likely just a fault in the server following recent problems thats been left unchecked

Um...No.

If a person feels the forum moderators are not living up their respective responsabilities,(relax mods, just an example =) ,) and so on, shouldnt we know who to contact in these situations when customer support just will not do.

I guess you never heard of the concept of overworked and underpaid?  Like before, Um..No.

I'm actually in agreement of us being given some form of structure or at the very least a procedure for escalating complaints/issues.

Where I work, if a member of staff makes a mistake or a customer is dissatisfied with their service, its escalated to their line manager, and then to their manager, and then to me - and if I can't handle it, we have a corpoate complaints department - so there is a very clear ladder of escalation for any issues - as there should be in any self-respecting company who wants to provide at least bog-standard customer service.

I'm fairly against the fact that if you want to complain about a CSR, you have to send in a ticket... to a CSR. Similarly, if you wish to complain about how a thread has been moderated, you send a notice... to a moderator.

There has to be some point where somebody picks up the ball - otherwise the impression being given is that greivances - whether other people think they are unfounded or not - are not taken seriously by those in the position to do something about them.

(Not a rant or flame, and RK - only quoted you as your point tied in to mine)
Community General Discussion Disgusting Abuse of Power from a CSR Re: Disgusting Abuse of Power from a CSR king 0 01/16/2006 02:26
Personally the most digusting thing in this thread is the people baying for blood and calling for the CSR in question to be fired. You're talking about a mans job here for fcks sake.. reprimanded, yeah, disciplined, maybe - but fired on the spot for slipping up?

For those of you calling for public execution who are actually old enough to work - would you think its fair to be fired after making a mistake? Or would you expect a warning, perhaps re-training on the area in which you slipped up. Have some sense.

I'm also amazed at the turnaround in opinions about CSR's from some people. Suddenly Brewko is Mr.Popular and Telaro is the root of all evil? "Fickle" doesn't even begin to describe it.

Even more disturbing is the fact that this community continues to house the sort of immature gimps who would spread these screenshots for the sole purpose of stirring up trouble. Have they done it to bring to light an issue in the CSR process? Are they doing it for the benefit of the community? Somehow I doubt it.

For the record, i'm 110% in support of Telaro. Should there be some sort of repurcussions on his end? Yeah, although I do like the guy, I can't be shortsighted to the extent of saying what he did is all fine and dandy - however the repurcussion should be _constructive_ - god knows you guys would complain if the CSR team was depleted further.

All I know is that i'd rather have a CSR who is too lenient and tries (although inappropriately) to have a little fun that someone who is too quick to deprive the community of its most valued assets and has serious issues in knowing where his authority extends to. I guess you're d*mned if you do, d*mned if you don't.

(Note: points made in this thread are referring to a small number of people - not everybody - so don't all assume i'm flaming the community in large)

Community General Discussion TasteeWheat. Re: TasteeWheat. king 0 01/14/2006 14:23
While no-one can put it better than the man himself, I just want to throw in my 2 cents on a couple of the questions ArtherEld posed:

2. Would there be a thread like this if TasteeWheat was just JohnDoeRSI? People preach against favoritism. But giving TW "leeway" just because of his significant contributions to the community, while perma-banning JohnDoeRSI is fair?

I think the thing that is sticking in most peoples throats is that there are tons of 'JohnDoeRSI's who receive simple slaps on the wrist, or who's negative actions go overlooked. Those area chat spammers, emote spammers, abusive players, deceptive players, racist and foul-mouthed players... the ones who flagrantly exploit to its full meaning (as in using a game flaw for their OWN gain, not as a way to contribute to the community and the overall wellbeing of the game), people who impersonate SOE staff (I mean seriously... how long did it take them to ban oblivion-knight? And how many warnings did he have before this happened?...

While I do agree that there should be repurcussions for breaking the EULA - its very clear that the 'top' CSR's have no control whatsoever over the process of administering these repercussions...

If you flip the arguement around... why should JohnDoeRSI, who's actions have never been anything other than negative and destructive, be treat more lightly than someone who has contributed as much as TasteeWheat and others mentioned in this thread.

3. Is, if ever was, permanent banning fair?

I think it should be an option, but how hard is it for them to stick to a widely-accepted '3-strikes' rule? Or some published variance in punishment? It should NEVER be a first option, period.

The problem lies with an obvious lack of fluency and structure within SOE. One hand doesn't know what the other is doing, and its a **bleep** shame because right now, certain CSR's are driving players away and it doesnt seem anything is being done about it.

Worst thing is, and I know this statement is far too over-utilized within MMO communities, but we really do pay their wages. We are subsidising the pay-packet of some wayward CSR who can't keep his finger off the admin-control panel (and no, i'm not being a conspiracy theorist here - although i'm sure enough people have had run-ins with this guy to know what i'm talking about)

Community General Discussion TasteeWheat. Re: TasteeWheat. king 0 01/14/2006 05:05
What else can be said on this topic.... its a struggle not to just blow a fuse and cuss out the whole lack of logic and process behind this. Theres a LOT that could be mentioned about recent activities involving a certain member of the CSR team, however i'm going to have to bite my tongue once more in order to avoid this thread being locked.

I've lost count how many times i've just been knocked off my feet by the sheer level of hard work and dedication to the community that Tastee demonstrated - not just in the mind-blowingly intricate community tools he put together, but also in his work towards identifying serious exploits and bringing them to the attention of the dev team.

And for the minority of people who, quite obviously have no comprehension of how hard TW worked to provide us with tools the MxO team were incapable of providing themselves - who are saying "he exploited, he should be banned" - consider that exploiting in itself is _taking advantage_ of a system flaw... TW busted his balls to give back to community, to give back to the game, not to exploit it and not to take advantage of it.

Sure, we don't know what this latest "offense" was, and knowing Tastee's character, he won't go running his mouth and bragging about what it was that led to his banning - but its sickening that people can spam constantly in area chat, can exploit to the extent of bringing a server to its knees (the agents at mara) - can impersonate SOE staff so flagrantly, and then come on these boards and BOAST about it... yet they always seem to just get a slap on the wrists...

This is a complete injustice commited by someone who is fast building a reputation for being prejudiced and extremely unprofessional - a jobsworthy who is quite obviously making up for shortcomings in other areas by exercising some bizarre little power-trip on some of the only community members left that try to improve this game past the mediocrity it has fallen into.

Someone seriously needs to review the CSR situation... not all CSRs... as some are good at their jobs... but everybody and their dog knows which one deserves a pink-slip in his in-tray.

The sad thing is... as Tastee has just joined the SI Radio djing ranks, I know he'll CONTINUE to work his *CENSORED* off for this community, that he won't throw his dummy out of the pram, and thats just a measure of the type of person he is.

Community General Discussion SOE Support AWR Re: SOE Support AWR king 0 01/06/2006 05:44
While I completely agree with everything Prestwick has said - I don't beleive i've missed the point. Perhaps i've completely misunderstood the entire arguement - but are you now saying that if SOE were to give some level of LET support to ALL mxo stations - in exactly the same manner across the board, without discrimination or favoritism, with no single station receiving anything more than the other - MMO Radio would then be able to justify the decision to offer SOE a service for free that other customers are having to pay for?

If thats the case, then are you saying the only reason AWR is no more is as a matter of principle for SOE's failure to deliver vast content to its gamers (thereby failing to provide any stations with solid news to report on) - and not because of the potential financial implications keeping AWR running for free within MxO would have on existing clientelle?

Yes - SOE needs to support all stations. Not just stations, but fansites, player run events, player-run newsletters and all the fantastic things our community does for ourselves completely voluntarily - butthats not whats being argued here.

And Death - I just want to clear up that I am not tryout to argue with you, merely stating my opinion. All stations thrive on the passion of their listeners - and the fact that so many people are so enthusiastic and vocal about their preferred community mediums is fantastic - regardless of whether you support Split Infinity, AWR, Machine Radio or RMC... however... you were the one who brought up football teams etc in the first place as a way to categorise 'support' in the context its being discussed within this topic SMILEY

Any yknow what... f*ck it... i've never been a big fan of listening to RFZ/AWR/MMO... but i'd be lying if I said I don't miss both Cirga and Prestwicks set (still extremely rare to find anyone who plays Oasis on-air SMILEY )
Community General Discussion SOE Support AWR Re: SOE Support AWR king 0 01/06/2006 03:28
Using those definitions of 'support' only cloud this whole arguement further...

If you support a specific football team, do you neglect other football teams? If not, then do you provide them with the same level of support right across the board?

Therefore if SOE make some official show of support for AWR, does that in-turn sign the death-warrant for any potential support offered to other radio stations? If not, then where are the boundaries?

Why does an individual support one specific football team? Personal preferance. Why do corporations support football teams? For financial reasons.

Support for an idea, group or individual. Yes, we would benefit from further support for the general idea of community radio stations - such as a links section on the main site, perhaps press releases for said stations and also fansites - however providing group/organisation specific support is a different matter because, once again, at what cost to other stations is this done?

Arguing against that point by lambasting the listener counts of stations such as RMC, as you did 2 posts up, is - quite frankly - ridiculous. The only reason AWR enjoys the _marginally_ higher listener counts than other stations (and yes, I am fully aware of how each player-controlled station performs on a regular basis - and AWR is not as far ahead as people may assume) is due to the listener base they built BECAUSE of the support they received from Monolith during the RFZ and early-AWR days, and also BECAUSE of support they have received from SOE, in terms of interviews they have been granted with key SOE/MxO personnel. No other station has received this level of support - what more do AWR want? During the Walrus interview - AWRs listener counts will spike, the counts of other stations will drop until the interview is over. Already, something as apparently small as an interview hits the efforts of so many other people behind the scenes of other stations.

Just because YOU support AWR, does not means that SOE should support them for the same reasons. That why we all have the capacity for individual opinions. The listener base of AWR does not make up the bulk of the MxO community nor do the posts in this thread - which is not 37 pages of support, rather 37 pages of repeated posts by mostly the same people, with some arguements against thrown in for good measure.

You cannot compare individual support to corporate support.

I have said previously within this thread that I am not anti-AWR (as most ppl may assume an owner of a 'rival' station would be) and am very much grateful for the trail they blazed and the contribution they made - however that contribution was no greater, in my view, than that of websites such as Rumbaar - or of other stations, it just so happened that AWR were thrown a few more bones and opportunities.

At least try to consider some of the reasons why SOE might not want to provide a single station with official support before claiming conspiracy.

Yep, i'll vouch for that.  While I would have loved for Split Infinity to have been the first to get our hands on the almighty Walrus - the fact remains that ANY interviews benefits the community - regardless of which station delivers it.  Just so happens that all of the controversy with AWR/MMORadio appears to have taken place between their request being submitted and it being granted.

THIS thread should be of some help.

You'll need to ensure you have Windows Media Player v10 installed on you system if you are planning on listening in-game.  That can be downloaded from www.microsoft.com

Also bear in mind that your internet speed can play a part. 56k modems aren't ideal for listening to streaming radio - although some stations do make provisions for those with slower connections.

You had to actually turn the sarcasm on?

Not sure if thats supposed to be a gripe towards me personally, or just a general snide comment - if its the former, i'm not particularly bothered seeing as how anyone who actually paid any attention to my RPing would know I can't be accused of the same things some other RPers were doing - whereas if its the latter... well, i'm not particularly bothered about that either :robotindifferent:

I beleive we did have one here at one point, ran by someone called Darrius I think - however nothing really seemed to come of it - or if it did, then it wasn't publicised much.

I've ran player RP events that have been open to the whole server as have Winterbrood and several others - however it does seem to have died down a lot recently.
