The so-called discrediting was not malicious, it was just that there were some problems with an ex-LESIG pretending to still be aboard the Scanline crew as it directly contradicted the storyline that we were preparing for Scanline. Since BA52 was never released it seems trivial now, but at the time it was interfering with the story that we were trying to produce. It was treated no differently than other player attempts to god-mod an existing LESIG/Rarebit storyline. Separating the Soniya sidestory from Scanline itself was all that was required.
(ShadowMan1od posting under this account)
Blast! I tried everything to make it clear that I wasn't a part of Scanline anymore (changing my character background, completely altering my look, talking bad about them, starting a new crew, etc.). I was trying to be really careful not to step on any toes or godmod any Scanline actions, ie. I had Soniya "think" that she was sent on a suicide mission but couldn't be sure. Of course, the plot was about her getting revenge on Scanline, but I never expected any followthrough on it. The most involvement I wanted was to have some of the Scanline people kill her off, and had I known you had a Scanline masterplot going on, I probably wouldn't have even gone for that. I really thought you guys were trying to snub me. Guess it was just a misunderstanding. BTW college is terrific.

Sarah Edmontons.
Rarebit said something along the lines of he didn't know what the old LET wanted to do exactly with that story so he just left it alone. So, it's probably an unknown.

It was a huge part of my life ever since I signed up at launch until I left at the end of 06. It was a blast while it lasted. Though I stopped playing my main RSI and never made it past level 25, I lived and breathed LESIG and threw everything I had into the characters.
Just to clear things up, I did get kicked out of LESIG. Once the plot started getting ridiculous with flying Seraph, I told one of my ex-MxO-playing friends about where things were going, and I'm guessing word passed on to Cap0ne, one of our good mutual friends (he's doing well!). I got the can shortly afterwards, and it coincided perfectly with the end of my subscription. The time I had with LESIG, though, was absolutely phenomenal. Having to constantly improvise and think philosophically deeply stretched me in ways I never expected, and it also helped me work on my writing/acting abilities. A lot of my stuff was pretty overwrought, but hopefully it was some good theater.
As far as characters I officially played for LESIG, in alphabetical order:
CorpLeon: One of The General's guys on Recursion. He never said anything and he died hard from a code pulse.
DanKasper: This was a bluepill character I made for an event where glitches were spotted down at the Uriah wharf. I missed it.
Fivetool: This guy was a member of Scanline that popped up for a single meeting on Vector. Everything he said/did was baseballl themed, and the character only lasted for about a week before I got the boot from LESIG. If anyone remembers him and his meeting at the Zion construct, kudos!
Gyrho: Gyrho was a one-time character who popped up for an event with Ghost on Vector (http://forums.station.sony.com/mxo/posts/list.m?start=0&topic_id=35000003975). He was some kind of outlaw, and he never did much besides shake his fist a lot and yell at people.
JackNeilsen: He was the first person to get infected in the Shane Black event on Recursion. I forgot to take off my hat at one point as Smith, which got some laughs.
Khursun: Hooboy. Khursun was one of my absolute favorite characters to play, ever. I always wanted to play an antihero, and being a Cypherite absolutely fit the bill. I originally started this character for an event for The Rakshas, which kind of gave away my LESIG identity, but I felt good repurposing him. Even if he wasn't officially a liasion. The Cyph factions on Recursion - as well as the secret Cypherites like Ebola, Iovai, and Austrian - were some of the best company I could ever ask for. In-between coming up with a backstory, philosophizing, and spreading story rumors, I formed a really solid bond with these guys and even befriended them outside the game on occasion.
Khursun had a couple good f-ckups, including one time I think I accidentally told someone Cryptos was getting revealed (whoops!), but the HvCFT Unknown and the crazy guys who followed us around were an absolute blast to hang with. I had so much fun tormenting MadHattah (I don't think I ever told him we were purposely pissing him off), and the late nights at Camon made the whole LESIG thing worth it. I would pass on hanging out with actual friends to get online, and I felt genuinely antagonistic with other players from opposing factions (even if I agreed with them). And of course, I eventually sent Khursun up in flames. Thanks a ton of the memories with this one, guys.
Soniya: Soniya was my other favorite character to play on MxO. She also originally started as an event character named TheConcertmistress that I wanted to run, but realizing no one wanted to solve more TheJoker-esque puzzles, I gave her up to Scanline. It was weird/exciting/adventerous enough to play a convincing female character, but having to play a schizophrenic nymphomaniac was an entirely different beast. I had to completely stretch my improv/acting chops to get Soniya's character down, but it was absolutely worth it. The constant puzzled and flirtatious /tells I would get totally validated the experiment, and I talked just enough to be a constant presence but not so much to risk overexposure. I got to have teatime talks, blow kisses, and generally explore some kind of what I could only construe as my sick, warped, and unstably murderous female side, and the confused looks and constant speculation more than paid off.
I originally wanted to incorporate Soniya into Scanline's backstory, having her as a beauty-destroying fugitive who first stole the hovercraft, but I left before final plans were laid out. Wanting to wrap up her story, I floated around the MxO sphere for a bit after I left, popping in once in a while with pre-recorded messages and the Lost Sojourn blog (http://lostsojourn.wordpress.com/). Lost Sojourn is one of my favorite writing projects ever, and it relies hugely heavily on symbolism. It basically tells the story of Soniya's apparent violent streak and descent into a pitch black psyche; please give it a read if you haven't seen it before! Cap0ne renewed my account for a month about a year ago, and I came back with a redesigned Soniya, hoping to stage some kind of grand final event for her story. The remaining LESIG (2.0?) people discredited the character and left the story for dead. Oh well.
Besides LESIG, who can forget all the other MxO memories, especially from good ol' Iterator? 500 points to anyone who remembers Aelaterdoltem, abacic, and TSMessenger. MxO had so much potential that no other MMO since has managed to bring back, and even though the bulk of it went untappped, I think we did a pretty good job squeezing dry what we could.
And that's a wrap. Thanks a TON to all you guys - especially the Recursion Cypherites - for making MxO such a wonderful time. Nothing else in my life has even come close to the bizarrely psychological, philosophical, deeply-involving, emotional, and enlightening experience I had as a LESIG member. I felt like a rediscovered person coming out, and I hope you guys had a blast coming along for the ride.
Until I return!/Scan for the truth, dears. Teehee!
This is when LESIG was good. Shadowman is a good friend of mine that put a lot of hard work into his LESIG characters.

Nobody from my original faction plays, and have disappeared almost entirely. I'm one of the only survivors, so I'll try to recall as much as I can.
Name of your faction: The Rakshas, Rakshas Evolution, Deus Ex Raksha Original Leaders: oh FUUUUU-- How could I forget this? I wasn't around when the original leader played much, so most of my time was spent under the leadership of The Constant. When it was formed: In beta. Why the faction name was chosen: You can wikipedia Raksha for a much better interpretation than I could ever type up. But, basically, Raksha means Protection in Hindi. We were protectors of the machine. Why the faction was in the organization (merv, machine, etc) it was: Machines. I wouldn't know what exactly was going through the mind of the creator, however it seemed like a good moral middleground among all three organizations at the time. Plus the Machines on Iterator were seen as the more mature group while all the kiddies at the time played "THE GOOD GUYS" at Zion, so that was probably a good swaying factor. Amount of crews in its prime: Too many to handle, which is why we ended up reforming once or twice. We were one of the huge go-to factions on the entire server of Iterator. Anything else you think might be interesting for us to know: The Rakshas were the first faction ever created on Iterator, according to a faction title managing .txt in the game's files. We were the faction with the most alliances, as we dealt with both Zion and Merv factions to a predetermined point. We always had specific factions we trusted the most no matter what though, such as The Kings of Never (post-xRagex leadership), Red Code Army (if I remember the name correctly) and the other biggest factions per org. Rakshas and Kings often shared faction and crew mates when servers merged, which was almost unheard during the age of secrecy in MxO. As long as the Rakshas and their major alliances were around, peace always reigned between the Machines and Zion.
Rakshas also came as close as possible to changing the plot line of the second chapter event with Lupines and Blood Drinkers. We protected a character that was supposed to die so well that they had to forcefully teleport him to another floor of the building to get killed. Agent Gray later met with us, asking why we protected the exile.
The Rakshas also held three out of four Assassin's Masks on Recursion, and originally won two out of the four in the Assassin event. One was Cap0ne, and the other was The Constant (who actually got the killing blow on both Assassins, with Cap0ne getting the second-to-last shot on one of them)

What the...?
I was only disagreeing with you. I thought just saying "i disagree. computer says no" would be just spam, so I decided to post why I disagreed with you.
Was picking out each and every one of my points, and trying to rip them to shreds really necessary? The thread title is "easy and realistic" and I don't find many of these ideas those very things. Just saying. You really don't need to go all out on me, bro. I'm not even going to respond to this sort of action.
Except on this one point you made of "well I know it's not easy and realistic, but what else am I gonna call this thread?"... then why even make that point in the first place? It has no point in this thread if that's your case.
I don't need you to agree with me and change your opinion or anything, I just wanted you to understand my disagreement. Trying to debate with you about this dead game is hardly ...efficient.

1. This would be a horrible idea for some items that you just should not have more than one of in your inventory.
2. This is not easy nor is it realistic.
3. Why would anyone want these items to begin with? Bay and co. will probably release some new update for their "patch" that'll give you most of the rare items anyway so this is pointless.
4. Why would you do this? People trying to level up new characters for the final event would get raeped.
5. This is not easy nor is it realistic with [spoilers]no dev[/spoilers]
6. Don't need this, see Bay and co.'s patch.
They seem easy and realistic to you because you have no idea how MxO's engine/item system works nor have you ever thought about what would happen if you made these changes and just went ahead and made yet another thread about this.

If MxO was started back up, I think any new developer would be much more sensible than Rarebit and never hire a group of players to be in charge of future classified and sensitive information ever again.
LESIG 1.0 was okay, but let's face it; LESIG 2.0 was an effing disaster, save a few gems.

Actually, by Launcher, I meant "Launcher.exe", and not Gaytion Launcher.

Oh, yeah, and uh, can't use live chat for tech support and can't get to the "email support" page:
help.station.sony.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is only valid for *.custhelp.com
(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)
Huuurrrrrrrrr. Hurp durp durp
Might wanna fix that.
Seriously, who are the downes apes that run SOE's website?

Now when I try to view my subscription info I get:
We have encountered a system error while processing your request. Please try again later. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you continue to encounter this error, please contact Customer Service at http://support.station.sony.com
In the meantime I guess I'll contact them, but am I the only one getting this problem?

I try to log in:
Failure. Your Station account doesn't include a subscription for The Matrix Online.
So I go to my subscription status and, well, I -am- subscribed to the Matrix Online. One month subscription, started June 1st. My credit card info is correct, it says my subscription is Active, I was able to play just a few hours ago, and I can post on these forums. But I don't have a subscription to the Matrix Online. wat
I try and change my subscription information, and I get:
We're sorry, a system error has occurred while processing your request. Please try again later. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you continue to encounter this error, please view our knowledgebase for possible solutions to your error.
halp.

I don't think the population of MxO ever went into the tens of thousands.

This account is merely a guise for another player you may have known once before. Some people know the secret, but that's not the point.
I've been playing since May of 2005. I've seen many iterations of MxO, and believe me when I tell you that these are the toughest times of the game and the most dull. I created this account a while ago (August-September) and still haven't updated it to level 50. My old account has been lost, and with it three years worth of info, items I grinded for, and an FM-1500. I have no motivation anymore.
Since the holiday update everything has been very quiet. The forum is only now populated by trolls, people who want to make a name in lights for themselves, and mods a mod. I'm tired of it, and I'm not going to pay 15 bucks a month to grind the items I can get, and leave the items I'm not interested in (which are none of the items I can get this update) then sit around Mara for 5 additional weeks. The cinematics are okay, but while Rarebit may be an up and coming (starving maybe? How much does SOE pay anyway?) artist, but he's not the 20 Korean slave children SOE hired once before to work with a storyboard. Everything, everything is now sub-par, and no longer excellent.
I once said I'd never leave MxO, so I guess you can say I lied. I might be around in a year to grind a year's worth of content in about a week, decide it's no fun because none of my friends play anymore, and leave again, but who knows.
I am here: http://steamcommunity.com/id/thejoey01 and I play the vidya (sometimes. College is tough). You should come play with me.
I am also here: http://www.fpsbanana.com/members/493195 and I make maps once in a while.
Adios.
