How about making each org's abilities functionally identical, but cosmetically different? Different animations and fx for the same type of ability? Sure, it'd throw away the diversity, but it'd maintain balance. Yes, that's what I wrote down as what I'd have to do if I was actually going to implement them. The second point I mentioned above would still be an issue, though (and then the various technical and PvE balance issues are still there as well).
And then the question is, what's the point? It would just sort of be an all-around rep-based player power boost. The original idea for these things was that they'd be a mechanism to balance PVP by org numbers--the buffs would increase in proportion to how outnumbered your org was, plus they were all going to be tied into "control towers" to fight over around the city. When that turned out to be unfeasible, their design concept was changed to be based around different powers per org based on rep (which I don't like).
why not make the level 2 and up org abilities available to players of opposing factions, but they should be quite hard to get so that say if someone wanted to get the mero one for a particular loadout they could but it would require a pandoras box style arc, take quite a while (although not in the range of the patcher headgear) and be very dificult, possibly require'ing several dungeons and zones to be revisited.
They would be special *hacked* version so that you wont get them mixed up when checking a players loadout if there displayed under the health bar (possibly in a diffrent colour to denote there type).
I dont know if it would be possible but you could then make each tier a unique buff so you could not run the mero mech and zion tier 2 at the same time for example.
I know this would take out the diversity somewhat but it would also maintain game balance as if you put in enough work then you can be viable in pvp without having to org hop.

Im really sorry about the delay on this, its just that the week after my exams ended my graphics card decided to have a meltdown and while the game was playable to an extent , the texture artifacts and such made getting any decent quality pics for the guide nearly impossible (not to mention the card was shutting itself down to prevent further damage when the load got too great :/ ).
Now i have just built a new pc, but after assembling the thing it decided it dosent want to to turn on at all so i now have to troubleshoot it, which could take a while.
I will have this guide finished as soon as is humanly possible / when my new comp decides to start working.

The gold eyes were the first sign's of his infection in the first game, followed by rapid regenartation, and was marked by another main character (can't rember her name) as the progression of his chimera mutation , whatever he's turning into its not one of your garden verity chimera, but he's not under their controll either...at least he was not at the end of the last game.
He was less human towards the end of the first game, this leaves insomniac with many new avenues for the sequel to follow, could you still be hale, now working with the cloven, could you be a new operative from the british/american side sent in to retrieve hale or kill him if the mutation has gone too far or he has sided with the cloven for whatever reasons, could hale have become a super chimera and sided with them and now poses a threat.......
and at those screenshots ...woah...blown away...looks like insomniac have really gotten to grips with the ps3's engine and are pushing it as far as they can

I don't really understand why the devs don't bring back Zen Master. Sure, it was added to balance out the hacking fest in CR1, so what? It's already coded so might as well fix the damage numbers and implement it, I doubt people would care if it's a gimped semi Aikido tree. It's definitely better than nothing.
There is already a counter ingame, Antibiotics, they basicly make the ravager tree a joke, you spend IS and time applying the Dots and suddenly with one button click theres something like a 40% chance that all of them are removed, every 4 seconds.

I've been keeping track of Sp3 and so far it seems there will be no performance boost, its just a culminative patch in essence, there are one or two new things, but its ony for interfaceing with the new windows server edition, so not many end users will get much benifit out of that, unless they runn server edition 08.
The main reason there releasing SP3 is to give users a patch baseline to workfrom, no more downloading 101 patches after upgrading to SP2, just havea backup of SP3 on disc and you should be good to go.

Well in my collage we have many socities for diffrent things like movies, comedy, etc but the one im most interersted in is the games society (which im a part of), last year the managed to get the collage to relax its restrictions in regards to certain ports, so now at this point we can play some games over the network (WoW is one of them, i havent had a chance to test MxO but it should work)
so see if there are any groups similar to mine on your campus, and try to get something worked out (might even be able to get a special gamer usergroup alloted allowing those in the society to play unrestricted on certain ports needed for gameing)

Well the distric rebundle was a posibility if they had to add additional mission spaces from currently unused building ingame to accomodate the extra mission instances.
From the way i read the op, after the third phase the mission splits into two seperate missions, which would mean an additional mission instance would have to be reserved for the secondary team. (thus a 5 phase becomes 6 in actuality as each team has a seperate phase to finish)
also just wondering , what would happen if one team were to fail an objective in another mission area, would it fail the mission altogether or would the mission just take a diffrent course in final phase with diffrent text from the opperator.

I know there has been alot of patches but from what ive heard from my lecturers there is supposed to be an actual Service pack released. Dont quote me on that. Im currently working towards my MCSA but its on XP and server 2003 so im not up to date with VISTA.
I had Vista installed on a virtual machine at home but i took it off because ive got enough to work on with my current course. I thought it seemed ok but then again i was running it on Virtual PC which caused a few problems. hehe quoted
Anyway i went to the source of all evil, microsoft.com and did a quick search.
There is a Service PacK on release to consumers but it is in RC (Release Candidate) stage so its not the finished job,

I can get to the bottom alone with Duelist and without using health pills, or any self buffs. There's barely any content that requires more than two people. Sure, you can do the 4th Pandora's Box with 50 people but it's not necessary. I would certainly love to see some content that requires at least one full team.
Well although sporadic the tengu spawns need at least 2 teams (from what i gather) of exprienced players who know what there about or a single team to go toe to toe against the lv100 agents.
And although it is a bit of a grind the fumigator collection line could be considered raiding when a team goes after the corruptors.
Still not a big and "epic" as wow but we do have our own version of raiding

That may not be possible with the current mission system as at the start of the mission it allocates a number of areas ingame for mission areas, ( ^ this may be wrong, its what i've cobbled togther from forums dev replies), By doing this it would mean increasing the number of areas allocated per mission, which would reduce the total available for everone unless the secondary objectives areas were to be set aside specificaly for this from currently unused mission areas ingame.
But this would require a massive patch as each district would probably have to be rebundled, and just rebundling Richland added ~100megs to that patch i think :/ not to mention the world rebundler apparently has a vendetta against rarebit .
Still a pretty nice idea and i would love to see it ingame, it just may not be possible with what we have right now.

Well i know that we allready have an excelent guide to the new collectors items buffs thanks to spha, but what if you wanted to see the actual diffrence pre/post patch, well here i have put together a list (original loc and buff list taken from an archived page of mxo-resouce) Also the images are free for anyone to use so if any fansite oprators want to put togethr their own guide, thats some of the legwork allready done " />
Also note that some items such as the weapons have not changed. At a second glance it would seem they have as some have had their base damage and level increased.

Well teh difference there is that when you equip those items all your adding is points to the ability, whereas with my and cervacius's (i think) idea the game will acctualy look for athe ability hyperjum leveld to 50, in much the same way you cant load the grandmaster ability till you reach 50, this jump zone would not activate unless you have a lv 50 version of the hj ability working, so it dosent matter how many clothing items you waer, if it ain't 50, your going nowhere but up...

What i was talking about when i said maxed out hj was the ability leveld to 50, this would be checked for before you would be allowed to port/jump still just a straight up lv50 only port area could work too
Another idea for the area could be the half finished reactor that was going to be implemented after launch, the rp reason for having to jump there could be that all road acees has been blocked off / restricted by agents patroling the main route due to say the instability of the area, which would result in the ffa pvp zone.
Annother addition for the contacts could be mission chains for new gear for each class, or more collectors along the lines of the fumigator and uriah but nowher near as long.

Hmm to acess another area of the game, instead of thinking upwards why not think outwards, rather than jumping up to the top of an impossibly high building, why not have a river (maybe the aqueduct) which is only crossable with maxed hj , and only at certain "jump points" with some sort of marker to indicate when you have enterd one (similar to pvp zone indicitations but only visible to those with maxed lv hj loaded).
These jump points could act like the white doorways, rather than physicaly jumping the distance which would possibly require new animations, you could simply have the person teleport to the far side, then when it loads it just play the tail end of the jump animation.
This way your not limited by the space one rooftop can provide, the area could even be free for all pvp just to give it another purpose aside from being an endgame area, maybe with some unique mission contacts who give specificaly tailored missions for the lv50 player(s).
Although it still does not solve the problem of recalling a player into the area, being ffa pvp means they probably wont last long, also the contacs will have some flavour text to turn them away, along the lines of :
"i dont have any work for you now, why dont you come back when you've gotten a bit stronger"
or something to that effect.

FFQ:
Would it be possible to put a timer of say 5 hours on the portable signal booster to prevent them acumulating as it makes tracking other luggables nigh on impossible, especialy if someone has gathered them together in one area.

Maybe the items collected from these lv60s can be traded in 5's, with a reward of your org (and only your org's) pill in stacks of five (bear in mind that before it autostacks these items need 1 slot each, so im keeping the number low to allow for that).
With this in place it allows you to gather them faster, but maybe the collector should have a cooldown of say 30mins~1hour between trades so that while it is faster to gather from these guys, it still leaves the option of the normal org outpost between trade cooldowns.

Or maybe a usefull tool slot item, along the lines of glimmer/boon/zhr but nowhere near as powerfull so as not to encroach on the veteran rewards

This question is just hypotheticaly if you were to ever add a no org pvp zone to the city :
would it be possible to have an item that sits in your tool slot which when you enter one of these ffa-pvp zones allows you to ffa pvp ,
but if you dont have one / dont have it equiped then you won't auto flag in the zone, allowing those who dont want to pvp to continue on rping/missioning in peace.
