This is the next animation short following Dead Fantasy I.

For those that may not know these are animation sequences done by an individual using various game characters. This is the same person that did Haloid (Halo vs Metroid). They are some pretty interesting animations shorts.

It should be noted that these are not cut together from other scenes from games the creator is doing all the model, animation, and special effects seen himself, if I am not mistaken.

With the upcoming patch, Update 58 Hotfix 1, we will be making available to non admins the ability to work around the Indoor Framerate issue plagueing the Nvidia 8xxx series video cards.

The following settings can be used to turn off model lighting (which makes the performance issue go away) and readd some but not full lighting back to them.

Create a text file using your perfered text editor. (Notepad will work)

Rename the file useropts.cfg (you will still be able to open the file with your text editor however)

Copy the following into the file and save it. If you already use this file for other things add these parameters (You might check to see if you already have them someone in your useropts however this is probably only an issue for advanced video users).

modellighting_enable = 0
modellighting_ambadd_r = 0.33
modellighting_ambadd_g = 0.33
modellighting_ambadd_b = 0.33

Save the file and place it into your main install folder "usually" located at ...\monolith productions\Matrix Online\

This file will be read and these setting loaded each time the game is ran.

Changing these setting in this file while the game is running will not do anything.

Note: Anyone with modellighting_enabled = 1 (the default) set may notice a slight increase is cpu usage for the game. This may effect lower performance clients meaning if you are close to the minimum spec for the game it may adversly effect you..

The up shot here is Since the release of the Nvidia Geforce 8xxx series of video cards Matrix has experienced the persistant problem with Indoor performace in the extreme.

After testing by Rarebit and myself we came to the conclusion that when an object (door, npc, ect) comes into view while indoors the 8xxx series cards have issues rendering it and create a severe drop in performance while moving indoors.

This issue is only slightly offset if you use Vista with the 8xxx card. And as another thread states Vista has its own bag of issues with Matrix Online.

Rumor: It was reported the forum user, Marias, that some relief for Vista users may be in the works.

Status of issue: The remaining devs assigned to the project lack the necessary familiarity with the rendering engine to simply fix the problem. And it should be noted that no one outside of the current devs at SOE even knows anything about the code or engine design for MxO.

We have contacted Nvidia and Asked them to look into the problem as it does not occur with any later generations hardware. They have stated that the issue is on their list to investigate. Where on this list and how many issues are ahead of us is not known.

ATI Cards: There is some conflicting reports that the new HD series ATI cards are experiencing this problem also. This is being looked into at this time.

Hey all I thought I would drop in here and take the time to put this out there.

Both Binary Boy/Fumigator have slightly different functionality then the rest of the collectors in MxO.

Their requirements sets only show rewards for gender specific trades even though all requirement set are present in their list.

What does this mean to you. If you see a trade on them and there is nothing in the rewards section DONT Trade them you will get nothing in return. Yep that is right if you are a Male trying to get a female reward from one of these collectors it isn't going to work or visa versa. That is the way they are set up. However the fact that it takes you tokens you intend to trade is a bug that we are aware of.

The team understands that this system isn't idea and is looking for a better way to represent this to the player but until we do please be aware if you click to perform a transaction and there is nothing listed as a reward for the trade it will take your items and give you nothing in return.

We are hoping to have a fix soon for it.

So I was posting some stuff in the general forums about the spawn system for the encounter and realized that we have a forum for this already.

The up shot of the encounter is that if you dont spend time in the appropriate place as stated in the patch notes the encounter will not spawn. So poping in ever now and again wont yield you the results you want. Spending some time in the right place may.

If you are feeling a bit bored just drag some luggables into the area I am sure you will get some attention while you wait for the encounter to start to tie you over. SMILEY

Hey all, we have changed how the world's region servers are carving up the different districts for some internal reasons. However I would most definately I like some players hitting downtown to see if we can get our problem to show up so we can observe the server behaviors on each of the world instances.

A note here, all previously made maps for the Lag areas of Downtown will no longer be accurate if the problem is still present (more than likely).

I would definately love to have this issue fixed but I am lacking for a place to start building a repro case for this. So If you would like to help narrow this issue down please give details as to when you are finding that Find Weakness fails to activate properly.

Is it not activating when just clicked on on the hotbar or Action panel?
When its activated via a macro using the /invoke or /use commands?
After some other ability or item was used?

Its all in the details. Squashing this bug would be a good step forward.

Hey all as was reported recently that some or many people get the "my connection is freaking out" message when they try to start an archive mission. Now most of these missions can be done anywhere while a few are district specific. However I need some help looking into this because they all start fine for my team and me. So I would like some specific information about what is happening around this problem.

Where were you? do a /whereami and distict?
What is your rep for all 3 orgs when it occured?
Which mission is giving you this problem?
Have you completed any mission previously during the current login?
Were you on a team previously?

And add anything else you might think will help to repro this problem. If nothing else I can visit live and give it a try.

Hello all, it would seem various folks are having issues with screen shots taken in MxO while running Vista. At this time we are not sure if the problem is with MxO or with Vista. So in an effort to help us track down the issue I would like to request that anyone having this issue, or others, please post your dxdiag and if the issue is graphics one a screen shot example of the issue.

We would like to narrow down and hopefully find a fixes for these issues and the communities help in this would be invaluable.

4) Female with nose ring has metallic shiny chest

A female with the facial style that includes a nose-ring model gets a shiny specular highlight on her upper torso. It appears that at least with the female, the nose ring's specular image map, which should be rendering only on the ring part of the face child model, is rendering on the character's chest.

As we changed Holy Water, Wooden Stake, Silver Bullet, and EMP Device to actually miss this is some additional information.

Holy Water uses Thrown Accuracy
Wooden Stake uses Melee Accuracy
Silver Bullet uses Ballistic Accuracy
EMP Device uses Viral Accuracy

There is a unexpected problem with the current build preventing the video playback from functioning properly. We hope to have patch out soon to address this issue.

Hello everyone, I thought I would touch base with the folks that frequent this board about tracking down exploits. Basically I think we all realize they hurt the game in the long run and fustrate folks in the short run when they are on the receiving end of them. I also realize most of the folks that made the effort to test on the Test World would also normally report them when found.

I would like to make open to everyone that if you find or hear about and exploit please feel free to contact me with a PM with repro steps so that I can investigate it. The clearer the steps the faster the turn around time can be for a fix in most cases. Also please state whether you have personally reproduced it. Doing a exploit once or twice to report the issue and then NEVER using it again should not get you into trouble.

This is in an effort to help us get good repro steps on all those problems we all want fixed as quickly as possible.

I have received more than few questions concerning the influences on Vitality and if they are actually working or not. As most of these questions involve folks saying it isn't I am here to show you how to actually check whether or not a Stat influence bonus is working or not.?

Basically there are two methods to do this. First cast a buff on yourself, while naked, and only have the specific abilities required loaded. Check the bonus on your buff bar then check the base listed bonus for the ability's mouse over. Is the actual buff larger than the base listed buff % bonus on the ability? If yes then you are getting your influences, If no then you probably aren't.

Second method is to give yourself a secondary source of the same bonus. For Example;

Contested Withdraw Bonus – Load Doctor
Initiative Bonus – Load Martial Arts Initiate
Determination – Load Clear Head
Health Regen Rate Bonus – use an item that gives this bonus
Max Health Bonus – Load Kung Fu Proficiency
Inner Strength Regen Rate Bonus – Load Execute Program
Max Inner Strength Bonus – Load Execute Program

With anyone of these abilities or items loaded you will see that your Influence from Vitality is actually being shown on the Bonus tab of the Status panel.

Now, why all this confusion in the first place? Well in the old system while your stats didn't greatly affect any part of your overall character it did affect it. Your Stats effected several attributes, far more than is current, so if all the bonuses were displayed you would have had about several addition lines of bonuses in your Status - Bonus panel that didn't do anything really. However this display design wasn't changed now that the system is streamlined.

So now you can test the bonuses yourselves and see whether these influence bonuses are working or not.

I very much appreciate all the feedback from the community on this issue. And I am very happy to clarify the issue for everyone.

Several Abilities have text errors in their descriptions.
Several Abilities are applying bonuses larger than intended.
The Doctor ability is missing some words from its description.
The Patcher ability Movement Accelerator 1.0 incorrectly requires Bolster Health 1.0 as a requirement.
The Upgrade Master Buff only increases a player's Buffer Cap by 50 instead of 200.
The Physician ability does not heal for the proper amount.
Master Shadow ability not adding its bonus to Contested Withdraw Bonus.
Master Shadow ability drain an excessive about of IS compared to its listed duration.
Passive Code ability can be used without a target.
Weakening Blows is providing an Upgrade to opponents instead of a Downgrade.
Throat Cutting Throw does not give opponents the listed debuff.
Head Butt’ does not give opponents the lsted debuff.
Damage given by the ability ‘Plague Zone 2.0’ is not accurate.
Upgrades and styles are not persistant when traveling through hardlines.
Code Freeze 1.0 has a longer duration than Code Freeze 2.0.
Warding Blow requires no memory usaged to load.
The Sever Artery ability prevents anyone hit from being able to interlock an opponent.
The Absorb Simulacra doesn't properly list what the numbers in it's Damage section are for.
The ability Serence Clam still has the term Dodged Ranged in its information.

Abilities occasionally become unusable if an ability that requires a state (Dazed, Staggered, or Off Balance) is used but the state wears off before the ability is executed other abilities become unusable.
When a player leaves interlock combat with another player they will perform a single melee free attack after the player has withdrawn.

The Desperate Speed ability has a difficulty of 17 instead of 25.
The ability Shifty Technique needs to have its crafting difficulty changed to 39.
Several Abilities are not craftable at the proper difficulty as indicated in the Code Analyzer tool.

Crew/Factions information not loading properly for players.

We need some focus on the viablity of hacker soloing mission and even level mobs. Specificially if the durations for debuffs and Crowd Control abilities appear to give the character enough of a tool in order to solo.

We are interested in feed back from all levels of characters. However make sure that your abilities are leveled to the maximums or close to it for this.

For animations issues some here is what we are looking for. Any ability use that has an animation that is to long or short for its use timer. (The small yellow bar at the top of the screen) I believe almost all of these are out of interlock but a few might also be in interlock combat.

Animations for Interlock, each animation for non zero sum combat should be around 4 seconds long, the length of a round for interlock, except in the case of a Hit/Hit exchange. In this case each player gets a 2 second animation. For describing issues with these animations please include the following information;

Style and Stance of each opponent in interlock.

The styles would include Self Defense, Hacker, Coder, Spy, KungFu, Karate, Aikido, Handguns, Rifles, Submachine Guns,

The stances would include Speed, Power and Block.

If special abilties appear to be broken please include the abilities name.

If you character's name is in the fixed list please try to log onto your character on the test server. If it is not there please try to copy the character listed. And in the event that you are still having problems please post in this thread.

If you are on the list to be resolved please be paitent we are working to resolve the issues.

If you are still having copying issues and are not on this list please reply to this post with your character and server information so we can look into the issue.

This thread is for Reporting potential issues on the CR2.0 system. Please limit your posts to either reporting issues or updating issues you have already posted. If you have more information for an issue you already reported please state that you have already posted the issue and are making and update.

Reporting Bugs in this Thread

Begin the title of the ticket with CR2.0: to help the QA team sort the bugs.

To simplify things, here is a basic template for reporting bugs on the EP server: You don't have to use this template for reporting issues in this thread but it would help QA.

And I would like to say again thank you to everyone for their efforts on the Test World server.

The bug reporting feature appears to not be function quite rigtht at the moment. We are looking into the issue. However if you have specific problems with CR2.0 functionality, meaning bugs, I would like you to post the specific problems you are having. BUT please hold off until I can have Walrus start a Official Bug thread. Please note this thread will be for reporting bugs only until we get the CSAssist system functioning properly again.

I would like to thank everyone that logged onto the Test World last night before we brought it down. (see Walrus's post) Your efforts helped us identify a server stability issue which the devs are working to resolve.

I know it can be fustrating to have these types of problems occur, however through the efforts of the community it is my hope that the CR2.0 changes will be as bug free and balanced as possible.

Once again thank you for you time and efforts.
